Subject: Necron Crypteks and Lords - Scoring Units?

This is my understanding of the rules concerning Necron Royal Courts; however, I want to confirm such after a scenario almost came up during a game last night.
1. Royal Courts can be their own unit or 1 model from each Court can be added to specific units.
2. All Crypteks and Lords have Ever-Living allowing them to enact RP even when the rest of the unit is gone.
3. A unit comprised solely of Royal Court members is not a scoring unit.
4. Royal Court members who join a scoring unit are considered scoring.
5. If a RC member is an Assault Casualty and the unit subsequently breaks and is swept, the RC Member can RP per Ever-Living and remains a scoring unit if the swept unit was.
Of these, #5 is where I'm a bit uncertain and want to double check.
If a Necron Lord attached to Warriors is an Assault Casualty (prior to results) and the unit ends up being swept, can the Lord bounce back per Ever-Living.
If So - Does the Lord still count as Scoring?

The lord will still be scoring if he comes back to life. He is for all purposes a troop pick when he joins the warriors. Furthermore your opponent does not get a kill point for the warriors till the lord stays down. A ghost ark can add warriors to the solo lord (warrior squad).

It never occurred to me the last part about the ghost ark. That is awesome!

So does the same logic for crypteks with warriors apply to Wolfguard with Grey Hunter squads?

The Woflguard are actually the first precedent for this, as the Space Wolf FAQ explicitly tells us this is how they work.

If Royal Courts work like Wolf Guard you can even choose to split off some court members to different squads and keep the rest as their own squad if you want to.

I have a peanut allergy. It's really inconsiderate.

Before the final blow was struck, I tore open a portal in space and flung him into the Warp, where my evil is law! Now the fool seeks to return to real-space, and undo the evil that is Chaos!" |

Yup. Both of those and Eldar Warlocks all work pretty much the same way. You select a unit of them, and during pre-game setup any or all of them can be assigned to lead units instead. If all of them are assigned out, there's no unit.
Warlock Councils and Necron Royal Courts count as HQ units but don't take up an HQ slot. Wolf Guard use an Elite slot.

I believe #5 is incorrect. When a unit breaks, Ever-living tokens are removed. It was covered in a FAQ, iirc.
If the model is still alive when the unit gets swept, its fate is currently unknown. Sweeping advances remove models as casualties, thus allowing an Ever-living token to be placed. However, there is disagreement based on some wording with less then certain intentions.

Sadly you are mistaken. Everliving always gets its roll to get back up. unless the unit falls back off the table.

To clarify (for completion sake of the thread)
Q: If an entire unit, including an attached character from a Royal Court, is wiped out, do you get to make anybReanimation Protocol rolls?
A: You would only get to make one roll for the attached character as he has the Ever-living special rule. note that in this case, he must be placed within 3" of the counter as his unit has been wiped out.
- per Necron FAQ v1.4
If anything, this rule is why it's important to use counters and not just lay the fallen model down as many people do.
As for why running off the table removes the Ever-living counter, units with Ever-living that had joined a unit must do so. If the unit is off the table, the character would join them...off the table. (I would be happy if a new FAQ DID explicitly spell out the Royal Court in this manner better).

Whoa! What is this sadly nonsense? You just helped me realise I've been doing RP/ EL completely wrong. I must have misread that FAQ and got it into my head that falling back (of any kind) denied RP/ EL rolls. How did I do that????
Anyways, ignore me.
