I have only read the 6th edition rule book once. Please give me some constructive critisicism to this list. I ussually play tyranids, and have not had much experience with Necrons.

1x Necron Overlord – Resurrection orb = 120
3x Wraiths – 1x whipcoil – 115
1x Ghost Ark – 115
10x Warriors – 130
13x Warriors – 169
1x Night Scythe – 100

749

Wraiths hunt small, tough units, MCs and armor. (If it would be better, I could drop one warriror squad to 11, and give all wraiths whipcoils... Perhaps 12 warriors and 2 whipcoils would be the most effecient, but I do not have the experience.)
10x warriors go in Ghost Ark.
13x Warriors + OLord go into night scythe, drop on an objective or an enemy vehicle.
I feel having at least 2 strong scoring units is important in a 750 point list.

My only concern is the AT department. Wraiths can explode armor 14. And of course I have plenty of guass shots to clance. The tesla from the Night Scythe can harass light armor, that is if it is not engaged with enemy fliers.
Would taking immortals in the Night Scythe be better than warriors?

Thanks.

In the games that you're playing, are there any restrictions in terms of points or FOC items (like no single model above X points or only 2 Non-troop choices)?

While it's not a big deal at this point range, it does help to know a bit about the group you play with since your list, which is pretty mean at this point level, but has some weaknesses as you pointed out.

At this point level, I'm not a fan of taking a Res Orb just for Warrior Squads less than 15 models. My dice are bad at rolling 4s and as a 30pt wargear, it would take 3 rolls of a 4 in order for it to really justify taking it (since 5+ is standard RP roll). I have had much better luck placing my Overlord (or standard Lords) in the very front of the Warrior Squad to soak up shots with a 2+ save via Sempternal Weave which is only 15pts. I would recommend SW, MSS, and Warscythe on the Overlord.

The fact you have Wraiths, a Ghost Ark, and a Night Scythe will cause your opponent to have to split his/her attention across 3 threats. The Ghost Ark is good thanks to its AV13 initially and being open top. Having no other warriors around it mean that the repair ark functionality won't be used until after disembarking but they are a very secure shell for a scoring unit.

3 Wraiths are decent but they are your only CC unit that will draw troop fire as they advance. 3++ save is good; however, you may find yourself charging into assault with only 1 or 2 instead of all 3.

Again, I think your list is fairly solid as is and provides multiple threats. One thing you may want to consider is dropping the Wraiths in order to have an Annihilation Barge. For 25pts cheaper, replace a CC threat with another mean AV13 shooty Tesla threat (same gun as your Night Scythe). Between it and your Night Scythe, you have enough to destroy most of your opponents scoring units. Being S7, they can threaten the tanks most people bring at this point range. Gauss glancing isn't an effective strategy (though sounds good on paper); however, at this point range, you probably won't have to deal with a lot enemy tanks. I would go after the objectives and keep your troops spread to 2" apart to minimize pie plates.

Wraiths "can" pen av 14 but I wouldn't bank on it. If the tank moves your hitting on 3"s ( on the charge 3 wraiths get 12 attacks) Hit with about 8 of them, rend with 1 or 2. So now your are av12.. you get an extra d3 roll to add to the pen but you need 3/4 to glance 5/6 to pen. Then it really falls to luck..

With this build, the issue I see is that your going to start the game with only your wraiths and an ark on the board. Most armies out range us and will likely do what they can to put that wraith unit down. T4 makes sets them up to take a lot of wounds from vof ( have to hope for good roles.

I would likely start the ten man and the lord out on the board in front of the ark.. give you resorb and repair barge. You don't have to start them in the NS. If you want ot move them.. bring the scythe in.. embark them then fly them somewhere else.

This way you have a little more "meat" on the board at the start of the game.
