So I'm putting together a list for a tournament, but I can't seem to figure out what to do with those last 50 points. The idea of the list is to have a fast, hard-hitting, highly mobile force that actually has some durability with serpent shields, holo-fields, and cover saves with some serious anti-infantry (that can also erase any vehicle it charges) hitting from deep strike (or skyleap turn 1, if I go first). AA is provided by the Crimson Hunter, naturally.

HQ: Baharroth
HQ: Farseer
Troop: 10x Dire Avenger w/ exarch, twin-linked gun
Troop: 10x Guardian w/ scatter laser, warlock
Dedicated Transport: Wave Serpent w/ scatter laser, shuriken cannon, holofield
Dedicated Transport: Wave Serpent w/ scatter laser, shuriken cannon, holofield
Fast Attack: Crimson Hunter
Fast Attack: 2x Vyper w/ shuriken cannon, starcannon, holofield
Fast Attack: 10x Swooping Hawk w/ exarch, sunrifle
Heavy Support: Wraithlord w/ 2x flamers, 2x bright lance
Heavy Support: Wraithlord w/ 2x flamers, 2x bright lance

So, options for that last 50. I could load up the farseer with remnants of glory, I suppose. A fire saber and that spirit stone, maybe. Or a phoenix gem and the spirit stone. Alternately, I guess I could drop the Guardians and take WJBs instead, with the farseer on a jetbike. In which case I could drop the now empty Wave Serpent for a Falcon with bright lance and shuriken cannon and holofield. Hmm. Any suggestions?

The Twilight Zone

Only having 2 troop choices at 1750 is pretty concerning... eldar are not known for their durability and with only 2 units you make it quite easy for your opponent to win by objectives alone.

Baharroth got a lot better in the new edition, as did hawks but these will not work against all armies and they are not all that survivable, so don't be surprised if they turn into confetti after a single shooting phase. They can be very effective if used correctly, and have a decent chance of blinding their first target, but just be careful investing that much in them.

Singing spears are fantastic in the new codex, so I would give one to your warlock and farseer. Both of these are going to be meched up I take it, so you will have no problem getting in close. An S9 shooting attack can instagib T4 and be a called shot, plus they only count as a one handed weapon.

The avenger exarch would probably be best with a shimmershield and power weapon to help protect your already fragile troops, otherwise you are paying a premium for 2 shots twin linked at BS5 and a 3+ save. This also works well with the spirit stone so you always have a save, although I would be wary taking the stone without a jetbike to ride on.

Not a huge fan of vypers, but I can respect them. The starcannon and shuricannon makes a nice shooty build, but I would not take holo fields as they are just too easy to take out. An extra +1 to a cover save may help, but anything that gets through is likely to take em out. Only take holo fields if you have nothing else to spend points on.

I would strongly consider a squad of jetbikes with the last 50, just to have another troop choice.

The most important rule of 40K-Page XVII of the 6th edition rulebook, the figure at the top right of the page. "Shake hands with your opponent and thank them for a good battle and fun experience." Then go out for a beer.

Two troop choices at 1750 is too little. Consider adding at least 1-2 other troops.

10 hawks + baharroth seems like wasted points to me. I have nothing against hawks, but the phoenix lords are kinda meh. 10 hawks is also way too much. 6 should suffice.

Lastly I think that with erverything being so mobile in your army, the wraithlords are going to have problems to keep up. They will get left behind. This makes them easy targets. You might consider dropping them in favor of fire prisms or nightspinners.

Warp Spiders are great, I'd try and fit those in somewhere.

Your army doesn't really seem to mesh tbh, what are the Vypers for? Would War Walkers be better? (answer is probably yes) Where is the Farseer going? if it's in a WS then he can't buff the troops around him.

The Vypers are there to deal with Terminators specifically, infantry more generally, with the added benefit of being fast enough to maneuver to hit back armor on vehicles if necessary. War Walkers would probably be better, but I don't actually own any, as I've been acquiring my army via trades rather than purchases. My goal has been to not spend any money on this game (my funds are extremely limited), and it's been working thus far.

The Farseer is going with the Dire Avengers, which is why I'd be hoping for Witchfire powers. Ideal rolls would get me Eldritch Storm and I don't care what else. An autarch might be better here, though. Or, hey, just Baharroth (who has been consistently awesome with his Hawks).

While I'm pretty sure the Wraithlords won't be able to keep up, the only Eldar vehicles I own are two Wave Serpents, two Vypers, a Crimson Hunter, and a Falcon (all recent acquisitions). When I started collecting Eldar, I was playing footdar exclusively, and have only recently become interested in vehicles. Even so, with 36" range bright lances, they should be able to hit about anything I need them to, and cover should improve their survivability.

re: Warp Spiders - yeah, if the Vypers prove not to be worth it, Warp Spiders were what I was going to take instead. And if I run three units starting in reserve, my thoughts once more turn to the Autarch...

I'm with shamikebab, if you get a chance to increase your model collection go for some warwalkers, the best weapons fit IMHO is ScatterLaser and Bright lance which is awesome

Maths wise 2 brightlances will nearly always be better (As high AV targets the scatter laser won't be able to damage)

I've been running them with Shuriken Cannon and Scatter Laser and outflanking them, it outs out a lot if firepower and has a high enough strength to even threaten a lot of vehicles side armour.

Things I would change:
Remove the twin-linked gun from the DA Exarch
Trim the Hawk squad down to 7 if adding Baharroth, 8-max if not.
Pull the vipers
Use all those savings to field more troops

I'm assuming you have a love for Baharroth and Hawks, so that is why I'm not advising you remove these...otherwise I'll tell you that they are a points sink that do what the rest of the list already does more reliably. Warp Spiders make a better TAC addition over Hawks due to their higher STR weapons to threaten vehicles/flyers, their better armor save and their mobility.

Baharroth and the Hawks are my favorite Eldar units, yeah, and they've consistently performed extremely well for me.

Did some testing, and the new version of the list changes the following: drops the Vypers, adds six Warp Spiders, exarch, fast shot, twin-link. Drops Farseer for an Autarch w/ jetbike, fusion gun, laser lance, drops the twin-link and exarch in the dire avenger squad (but still 10 models in the squad), adds a jetbike squad for a third troop.

In regards to your latest changes: twin link on the WS exarch is meh just like on the DA exarch. With a BS of 5 already it's just not that great. The only reason I can see keeping it is that it gives you another shot at hitting a flyer with a snap shot.

I know it is. I figure twin-link on an Exarch is pretty much just something to do with those 5 points that you're short of the target at the end of building your list.

Why not take a Spinneret Rifle? S6 AP1 profile with Fast shot is two shots, same as deathspinner and the loss of TL isn't an issue with his BS5.
