As we are gearing up for our campaign which is looking like it is going to be a more NArrative campaign than pitched battles.I was wanting to know before i assemble my company. When was the sturm issued to them? As i really do not want to put them on the bases if not issued to them around d day. As i will do what i did with my Grenadiers and save them back for a rainy day.In which i did end up using them for my 12th VOlkstrum Grenadier division .Yes i know wrong uniforms not Winter .
So for all of you history buffs hook me up with a link or some info on the timeline when this weapon was issued. one last thing i thought it would be cool for VON to be rivals with Winters for the campaign.Yes, we are using the Easy Company Heros with the D day PAra list.It is kinda going to be like DUke from GI Joe with CObra Commander.but i think i will be able to pull off a few good games with what divisions i have,2nd Panzzer division,PAnzer company and Infantry SS company. which maybe subed as a Grendier company and Falschimjager company also.
Also any info on him in the Ardennes offensive woulld be great too.I know he jumped and it was a bad jump and he broke his arm.
It is just that BF left alot out of the Bulge Books and i think it will be awhile before we get a Nice HArdback with more lists and info.I was kind diaappointed that they did not add more German lists to nuts but went with Norwind that thing could have been a PDF.

Big p if you read this where can i get a few piks of some of yours for reference?

No StG-44 with FJR6 in Normandy. Certainly none on their returns and none issued to their division. FJR6 do seem to have a higher than usual number of FG42s thoiugh, even allowing some 'recce' foot patrols to all carry them. Don't over do it though, still a rare beast.

Most troops carry K98s, MP40. Anecdotal evidence seems to sugget they prefferred the lower rate of fire of the MG34 over the MG42. They certainly had both though.

All STG44 issue seems to be heading east at that point mainly. I have the issue nimbers somewhere...

Only one pic of a guy with an StG44 in Normandy and he aint FJ.

Also FJR6 still had guys wearing the old plain bonesack, not just the camo one.

Also they had 50 different makes of truck...

VDH in the Ardennes jumped with one broken arm and broke the other on landing during strosser. Didn't do too much. Just hid till being captured! He is rumoured to have jumped with a triangular parachute. Awful operation, utterly pointless. Waste of men.
