I have a quick question. I've been playing thunderwolf cavalry where they only have rending if they use their close combat weapons, but not if they take power weapons. I jsut looked back at the rules again and it says that they have the special rule "Rending (close combat only)". So does anyone know if there is any reason why a thunderwolf with a powersword or something wouldn't be able to use rending?

IIRC, rending is only f not using the spec. weapons.

Note to the reader: my username is not arrogance. No, my name is taken from the most excellent of commanders: Lord Castellan Creed, of the Imperial Guar- I mean Astra Militarum - who has a special rule known only as "Tactical Genius"... Although nowhere near as awesome as before, it now allows some cool stuff for the Guar- Astra Militarum - player. FEAR ME AND MY TWO WARLORD TRAITS.

Q: Does a Thunderwolf Cavalry model with a special close combat
weapon (eg a thunder hammer) still have rending attacks? (p34)
A: No. The description of the Thunderwolf mount on page 62
says that it ‘… has the Rending specialrule in close combat
with any attack that does not use a special close combat
weapon’. This applies to Thunderwolf Cavalry as well (and
Canis Wolfborn, forthat matter)
