Bikes and jetbikes rules on pg 45 brb, state that they raise the model's toughness by 1, already included if it is standard wargear.

Disc of tzeentch ruleson pg 67 csm codex, states that the model gets +1 attack and his unit type becomes jetbike.

So if my chaos lord takes a disc of tzeentch does he recieve +1t for being a jetbike?

Yes it does, same if you give them a bike.

I am on the side of yes as well. The +1 doesn't come from the war gear itself but from the bike section of the rule book. By becoming that type you gain access to all the rules in this subsection, including the armored steed. As the +1 was not provided in the profile to begin with, you have permission to add it thanks to this rule.

Keep in mind: While it does say bike and jet-bike it is talking about the unit type, and not specific wargear itself.

8th made it so I can no longer sway Tau onto the side of Chaos, but they will eventually turn aside from their idea of the Greater Good to embrace the Greatest of pleasures.

No. The benefits are explicit. The juggernaut adds 1t and the palanquin adds 2t.

The disc doesn't give him a bike, it changes his unit type to jetbike.

If the unit type is changed to Jetbike, they follow the rules of Jetbike and as such benefit from the Armoured Steed special rule.

The Palanquin does not change unit type and Cavalry does not have an inherent Toughness boost. That is why they are explicitly mentioned.

Greebo had spent an irritating two minutes in that box. Technically, a cat locked in a box may be alive or it may be dead. You never know until you look. In fact, the mere act of opening the box will determine the state of the cat, although in this case there were three determinate states the cat could be in: these being Alive, Dead, and Bloody Furious.

Sounds like someone mistake the rules from Fantasy, Fantasy have the rules where you pick the higher of the Two of the Rider and Mount, i dont think the same applies in 40k...

No but adding a bike or jetbike to a model does bump the toughness. Since the disk is esentially a jetbike, you get the +1 toughness as it's not the model's standard gear.

It's not the size of the blade, it's how you use it.

Good job noone is saying that

The armoured steed rule states that a Jetbike type has +1T.

I say yes. A Disc changes the unit type to Jetbike, granting all the rules associated with that as described under the unit type.

These rules include ignoring cover, turbo-boosting and Armoured Steed; therefore +1 Toughness along with the movement buffs. To argue otherwise is saying that they also don't gain the movement benefits.
