Unhealthy Competition With Other Legions

Hey guys I just got a bunch of elder tanks and I obviously dislike the gw flying bases/stands. Simply due to the lack of stability and how easily they break and wobble. Since all the modelling experts are here, could you guys link me to what you guys use to stabilize/replace the bases. Or maybe just ideal magnets to put on the post and the tank. Thanks for any help.

If you want an alternative?
Take the flying base that was included, and get a small piece of cork or whatever whatever material you want that is about the height of the flying stand and then drill a hole through it to run a brass rod through.
Attach the brass rod securely into the Falcon/Wave Serpent/Fire Prism and then it looks like it is 'hovering' over a piece of terrain rather than just suspended in midair.

So for that the brass rod is glued to the model? or magnetized.
I think I am leaning towards magnetization, just mainly looking for a good idea to copy/replicate.

It would be glued inside of the model, yes.
If you got a good enough size to mate with the hole on the underside of the grav-tank you would not necessarily have to glue it and could just remove it/attach it as you wanted to.
Edit: Although come to think of it, if you were to find a decent sized pair of magnets with opposing polarities you would be able to do the same thing with a piece of terrain as well if you drilled a hole and mounted one magnet within the terrain and the other magnet within the tank.

Back-2-base-ix have a magnetic flight stand that is suitable for the eldar tanks. Magnets are involved.
With the standard stands GW provide, simply ENLARGE the hole to around 3mm (a standard 3mm or 1/8" drill bit will do the job).
The post now sits further inside the tank, so that the mass isn't supported purely by a 1 square mm nubbin. Shouldn't wobble anywhere near as much, and it doesn't change it's height enough for most people who aren't anal-retentive about such things to notice.

Those bases look really nice, only hiccup is I dont have a drill to drill the holes, I guess I could just scratch out holes..

Get a pin vice.
It will be one of the best investments you ever make, hobbywise.

I did the first few of mine (falcon came out in 2nd ed, and had the identical problem then) with the pointy blade of my x-acto knife.
Poke it in and turn and turn and turn and turn until the hole was big enough. Drill just made it quicker.

Get a rod and a pipe of diameters that will fit into each other, mount the pipe into the model, so that theres just the hole , nothing extruding from the model. and mount the rod to the base... likely will need to model some height into the terrain to give support to the rod and add depth to pin into.
Might need to use something different to the little round clear plastic thingy... the big oval one? or some cut wooden/acrylic sheet might suffice.
pinvices are only useful for really small drills tbh, its its so small you cant twist it in your fingers with any precision then you really ought to use a pin vice. for chunkier drills you can do a fine job just turning the bit in your fingers. The plastic these models are made form is not tough to drill whatsoever. I suggest buying a set of drill bits from really tiny upto a few mm maybe a little more. and then worrying about pin vice.. which arent too pricy, I think the one army painter sell looks better than citadels current generation of them. Propper tool shops should do the best ones.
