Deffkoptas are the only weakness I see in this list. They have really, really bad morale problems. One way to fix it is to put the Boss in with them instead ~ he can outflank and provide higher LD and a re-roll while the deff koptas pretty much act as wounds for him. The other way is just to take one kopta...

You could also perhaps swap them for buggies. Cheaper, still tough (different kind of toughness though) and most importantly no morale issues.

Alternatively, just get a third dakkajet? Pretty much the same cost and will likely do much more damage.

Glad to see this sort of list making a comeback on Dakka.

At 2000pts I think there is a high chance all your trukks may just die on turn 1. It will probably fare okay if you get to go first, but if not it will probably crumple. But thats kinda the case for any trukk rush list I think, regardless of how many you field. Say if I was facing this with my marines, I would expect to kill about 4 of them turn one. And of course that varies. The nob bikers would be a pain of course, but they're just one unit.

Yeah, I'd probably loose the deffkoptas as well, but other than that I cannot see much else to change whilst keeping it in theme. I would probably take the deffkoptas out and replace them with another trukk squad. Then just take the nobs as elites. Unless your elites are full, there's not much point in taking them as troops as I'm pretty sure they still don't score. Correct me if I'm wrong. The best advice I could give is to go for the night fighting warlord trait, that would definitely help.

Woah, almost choked there reading over your list again. And drop all of the big choppas on the nobs and get a Klaw, seriously. Loose some from the sluggas as well.

Seeing as some are always gonna die, just get some barebones trukk units out the front that'll pretty much be a screen from initial fire. Just chuck like 12 shootas in there or something, nob optional. Leaves you more points for other stuff. So maybe 3 shoota trukks and 3 slugga trukks with the all the klaws and whizzbangs. Then the shoota trukks will die ofc, but at least they can kinda do something at range and you have some home objective campers. This leaves the expensive slugga/klaw trukks to go out and wreck face.

Well, shows how closely I read that list...

Yeah, Big Choppas aren't so hot, and at 2k points theres no good reason not to have either more trukks, a forcefield mek, or both. Remember the forcefield applies to boys inside the trukk when the trukk goes boom, as long as it doesn't kareen out of range.

I also notice you've got free heavy slots... recommend that you drop a unit of Lootas or the koptas and however many extra points to get a bunch of Big Guns. I'd say they're the most points effective heavy weapons in our codex. Three kannons or two kannons and a lobba, with ammo runts if you've got the points.

Rahxephons idea of dropping some klaws from the trukks is a good one. If you run enough, then the cheapy trukks can simply drop their boyz and pick up the klaw groups if needed.

What's wrong with Big Choppas? 5 Points for +2 strength seems like a bargain to me

big choppas are okay, but if you had 5 big choppas and no klaws with no points spare, then go for a klaw instead. The ap rating from the klaw is pretty significant. Being S5 on a charge, with one more attack makes regular nobs fine with the big choppas.
