Hi everyone, I'm thinking of opening a FLGS (hope I'm posting this in the right place) and I could use some advice. I'm not thinking I'll get to play more games nor am I thinking that this will be an extension of my hobby because I'm really not. If I do this I know that first and foremost I will be running a business and not a community centre. I've read a couple of posts on here and elsewhere on t'internet and there's been some good advice but no one has said anything about the very basics such as consumer research and the like. I already know a lot of people will probably say not to do it but I'd like some constructive advice on how to go about opening a store. Also if there's anyone here from my area that would let me know if a store is something they'd like or if there is already one I don't know about then that would be brilliant.

First of all, welcome to Dakka.

Second, before you think of opening a store you need to see is it viable. Price around and see what the rates/rent is like, see is there a market for what you're offering, see what games are the most popular (you may find this interesting but tangentially related
