Hey there,

i received a Spartan Assault Tank today. Though being an awesome and solid (and heavy Oo) model, the lascannons are bend somewhere....i want to fix them. The manual says laying them in hot water for some time. I did, but it did not bend. Well it did but it did not last. So what should i do? Hotter water? How hot can it get before damaging the material?

I've used water boiled and then poured into a container. Submerged the resin pieces in for about 10 seconds and it should then be fairly flexable.

I've never had it revert back to it's original shape before.

Just used this method on a model just an hour ago to realign 2 arms on 3 Hive Guards.

Hope this helps...

There are a lot of posts on this - do some searches on forgeworld, beding resin, finecast etc.

But, basically, use very hot water (if you can touch it, its not too hot to damage it) and soak it.

Then bend it straight, and put it in cold water immediately to set it.

Some very bad bends might take a repeating of the process.

If you can't get it after that, contact fw - they are pretty good about replacements.

If it's a thin piece such as a sword, I just hold it up to my desk lamp for short while ; p Larger pieces need the boiling water, or a bunch of things that need fixing. This is just convenient for the occasional small thing that needs straightening.
