In the space wolf codex it states the leaders of the pack rule

no two characters may bear the same saga, nor may they bear the same psychic powers or wargear combination.

Are these counted individually or separate?

Can i run Grimnar, Njal and Bjorn in the same list as they all have saga of majesty but different wargear?

can i run 2 runepriests with the same 2 psychic powers but different wargear?

I read it that I can't do the above.
They must have different sagas, so the idea of running Grimnars great company with Bjorn o Njal is out.

Also two runepriests can't have the same psychic powers so if you roll the same results on the divination table you would have to select the primaris power for one of them so their powers are different.

Nor could you run a battle leader in terminator armour and power weapon and a lord in the same getup, even if they have different sagas

What do other people think on this?

From the FAQ:

Q: Can you clarify how The Leaders of the Pack works exactly? (p81)
A: The rules for selecting Sagas are detailed on page 64. As for
wargear, no two HQ characters, including Special Characters,
may have the exact same wargear and Weapons, even if they
are different HQ units. Note that Fenrisian Wolves bought as
wargear are included in this check, so if you had two otherwise
identical Wolf Guard Battle Leaders, save that one has one
Fenrisian Wolf and the other has two, then you are technically
obeying this rule just fine. For the record, the intent of the rule
is that you should field characterful and diverse heroes in your
army, not identical clones with but an extra melta bomb to set
them apart. Though we cannot really enforce players to
embrace this attitude, the Codex does try to encourage it
wherever possible.

Greebo had spent an irritating two minutes in that box. Technically, a cat locked in a box may be alive or it may be dead. You never know until you look. In fact, the mere act of opening the box will determine the state of the cat, although in this case there were three determinate states the cat could be in: these being Alive, Dead, and Bloody Furious.

Also from the FAQ: (with regard to the Psykics)
Q: Can you clarify how The Leaders of the Pack works with regards to psychic powers? (p81)
A: No number of Rune Priests may share the exact same two psychic powers. For example, a Rune Priest may choose to take Living Lightning and Thunderclap. A second Rune Priest may then choose to take Living Lighting and Jaws of the World Wolf, as he will not have the same two psychic powers as the first Rune Priest. Note that the restriction on weapons and wargearstill applies, so you have to have each Rune Priest with a unique wargear selection. Also note that Njal Stormcaller knows all seven powers rather than just two, so no other Rune Priest can end up having the same powers. Thus it is permitted to take Njal Stormcaller alongside other Rune Priests. If you choose instead to take psychic powers from the disciplines in the Warhammer 40,000 rulebook, this restriction does not apply, as the specific powers are selected randomly.
Note the last sentence regarding rolling on Discipline tables (emphasis mine).

Thanks guys.

It just sucks that they can't bear the same saga. They could have given each unique character a different sagaso you can run any combo of them

Reread the saga rules, second paragraph, third sentence.

This is my Rulebook. There are many Like it, but this one is mine. Without me, my rulebook is useless. Without my rulebook, I am useless.
Stop looking for buzz words and start reading the whole sentences.

Seriously, take the above advice.

The first rule of YMDC should be,

1. Read the rule and check the FAQ's before posting here.

If you are jumping on the Dinobot meme bandwagon regarding the new Warhammer 40k Chaos models, grow the feth up!

Some of us are not all-seeing gods like yourself.

It is easy to miss rules when they are surrounded with fluff and your looking for specific parts.

Just remember that you used to be new to this game too. How many obvious questions did you ask to other players?

Thanks again for pointing out these rules.

You always have to read the whole paragraph for a rule, especially when the very next sentence begins: "The exception to this...".

A paragraph is to be read as an entire entity, with all sentences referring back to the subject of the first sentence whether they are modifying or expanding on previous sentences.

This is my Rulebook. There are many Like it, but this one is mine. Without me, my rulebook is useless. Without my rulebook, I am useless.

There's being a newbie and there's not reading the rules carefully. They're a bit different. Most new players don't know about the FAQ's in the first place, so that needs to be better advertised. Especially on YMDC.

But when the rule is point out, and the text of it even copy-pasted into the thread asking a question answered by the rule... Well, someone couldn't be bothered to actually read the text then. Skimming is not reading.

I'm fairly guilty of that myself sometimes. Causes some confusion early on when I'm looking at new rules.
