Well, for armies on parade I wanted to get more squig themed units for my army instead of painting a vast amount of stock squigs/goblins. Since it doesn't have to be a legal army or anything, I figure couple big units of squigs, few units of 20 gobbos, some fanatics, and the fun squiggy boss, hoppers, squig gobba, mangler squig, this guy, and maybe some count as trolls giant cave squig with troll herder? idk anyways, off topic already in first post..

I really like these guys here someone else sculpted somewhere along the line, and it was my inspiration








I plan on doing a similar picket style fence, as I have my chariots and pump wagon made of those. I need to figure out how many crew members on arach so can toss them up there. figure magnetize one in middle to remove for shaman if put him on it. Shaman would have a wooden throne maybe? Going to add a mushroom "umbrella" bent over the throne?

Figure have a few mushrooms growing off this thing... give it tiny legs to go with the tiny tail to make it more comical? still need to cover teeth and inside of mouth with putty and sculpt on more.

this is just the 1st layer, with eyes lips and eyebrows added.. i should of put something in shot for scale... I think its about 6" in diameter?

I like it! If you are feeling goofy you can magnetize the goblins so they are hanging onto the sides for dear life.

Thank you! Yeah it will be full of goofiness. Was thining of making a "deck" that goes off its back and has supports going back to his body.. then could hang ropes off the deck with "tire swing" equivalents?..

have a spare guy from mangler squig holding onto a chain for dear life being pulled I plan on using as well

Still pretty rough but gettin there!

update! just needs chains, and ropes, and nail heads, and a bad moon or two, and of course, goblins!

I only ask because I'm trying to develop some sculpting skills of my own and this seems like a good project to try.

Wow ha ha lots of sculpting. Very cool though. I've made mangler squigs like this before and they were fun. Good luck with your project.

Check pics in first post of this thread, see that white exposed part? thats like a 6 or 8" diameter styrofoam ball. set me back a few dollars at michaels. got some packages of other sizes as well, and half spheres to make a giant squig popping out of a cave... (dangerous terrain?) hehe.. squigs or non-squig-sphere monsters or whatever you want to call them, are a great projects to try to hone your skills.

probably used an entire box of yellow milliput on this guy. plus 1" of the white stuff, and 2" of another box of yellow.

i eventually cut the teeth out and used some plastic rod as filler for bigger teeth and just sculpted smaller teeth on without a armature/core or whatever.



Sorry if all my terminology is off, I don't really know what I'm doing.

Well crap I guess I didn't mix my quite milliput up enough and it's still not cured!!!! Learned it hard way and had to fix thigh.

So.. Under a lamp it goes I guess, maybe it will cure in a day or two, if not green stuff goin on top I guess
