Ditch the venerables if you want dreads take normal dreads and use the saved points to take shadow sun. Put shadow sun with the broadsides, even in area terrain they have a 2+ cover save this takes some heat off the riptide. The wolves part is good. I use a very similar list to this I have tried dreadnought a and am still undecided if I like them. Although they do serve a purpose of being very threatening in the opponents deployment zone turn 1. Give them a wolf tooth necklace makes them that bit better.

I like the ethereal for the LD10 bubble though, it is very useful as tau are a bit prone to running away

I guess i do like dreadnaughts thats part of my thinking they are just cool

I also like dreads but in game terms I am still in sure. Maybe trim the missile drones a bit.

Venerable is a rip off. This was true in 5E and is doubly so in 6E where you are far more likely to get glanced (and Venerable only helps when you get penetrated). That will free up a ton of points immediately if you drop it.

Take the Cadre Fireblade instead of the Ethereal unless you take more Tau troops. Volley Fire is spectacular! As an Allied HQ is the only appropriate time to take a Cadre Fireblade IMO.

Uh...What? Do you mean Saga of Majesty (which he hasn't purchased)? I'm confused here.

I'm just an idiot. He said, "I like the ethereal for the Ld10 bubble on his firewarriors," but for some reason I read that he liked the Ven Dread for the Ld10 bubble on his firewarriors.

I've edited the post.
