So following on from the Chimera Stug Kit, I've now got a Griffon conversion kit on the go. It doesn't conform to the standard pattern 40K Griffon, but rather can be used as a stand in.
Here's the pics so far:
I'm currently undecided as to whether I'll offer a weapon with this. I kind of like the idea of the user adding their own.

As an IG player my main concern is that gameplay-wise this is vastly inferior to a normal griffon. Normal griffons have a low profile which is easy to hide particularly behind other chimera chassis vehicles. This is particularly valuable when your weapon is indirect.
I'm in the market for a griffon conversion kit and this one has decent aesthetics but I would not purchase. My two cents.

This kit does give it a profile close to a Medusa than a Griffon.

This is why I'm loath provide a weapon for this. I'd much rather players decided what they wanted to use it for and modified accordingly.
Alternatively I could put together a range of options with regards to weaponary.

Mate this looks ace! If you had a small and large cannon (which could potentially be magnetised, so an interchangable Griffon and Medusa respectively), there'd be some serious sales from me at least.

Not a big fan of this one, at least not for a griffon. I was hoping for something more Wesp, or Marder like. Perhaps that would have been too close to the FW model.

You could even add some other weapons on the top and it could count as a Basilisk, Manticore or Hydra...

I agree with the above commnets, as a medusa/basilisk it works brilliantly...as a griffen, not so.

Good idea. In fact, I'd suggest going one step further and having a 'long cannon' for a Basilisk counts-as.

Lads this sounds great to me, I don't know why i've never considered interchangable artillery before... I hope he does it!

Would be nice to have all your products in one thread rather than spamming the forum with new threads for each variant.

Kroot, that is a matter of opinion, and I personally dislike threads where everything is gathered together, because if you miss a day (or a week) of reading the thread it can be very hard to find a new release or announcement that is burried under resulting conversation.
As for this kit, I agree that it works better as a Basilisk, but since you are not releasing an IG Griffon... it hardly matters, right?

It's fine for when a sculptors work is going out via their own company, but when they are selling them on to other producers it makes more sense to have individual projects as individual threads

I rather agree with Kroothawk. They are obviously very similar. And if they are going to be more, why not have a single thread.
That said, I rather dislike it as a Gryffon. as a IG Artillery with Enclosed Crew Compartment it works good tho.

Point taken about the single thread. I'll add stuff to this thread when it becomes available.
Ok, instead of a mortar then, I'll work on a howitzer type weapon for this model. You're right, it doesn't really work as a Griffon.
I had an email from Ben at Mastercrafted and the first run of the Assault Gun was only a few models. He's working on getting a warping issue sorted, then I presume more will run after that.

Ok, so the Chimera Artillery conversion kit is finished. I decided to move away from the Griffon idea in the end. Thanks for the feedback on that by the way.
The kit comes with two weapons, one smaller bore than the other, both pretty similar. They are separate items so they allow for the player to set the elevation as they wish. Shouldn't be too hard to magnetise them either I'd have thought.
I'll start hawking this about soon, see if anybody wants to take it on. Had a few leads already. I'll keep you posted.

I'm glad to say that this will be Great White Miniatures' first model, thanks to Tomcra.
I'm hoping to have this available for purchase shortly as it's off to the caster tomorrow.
You'll be able to buy it from the Store tab on the blog when it's available.

Here's the "Long Tom" barrel option for the Abrogator. I should say this is my work and not Tom's, but I hope it will change people's minds on the usefulness of this kit. The new barrel is 3.5" / 8.9cm long.

Nice. The long barrel option certainly helps make it more appealing.
I'm still waiting to get a StuG conversion or 2. Might have to look into these as well.
