Subject: Nurgle CSM with Demon allies List - 2K

Hey Guys,
In the process of putting a CSM list together in 40K, breaking out of my native WHFB to venture into the far future. Love the conversion opps that Nurgle offer so my list is going to be Nurgle themed and as with my WHFB army it's all about the models.
Basically I wanted to know if this list is going to be semi competitive in games as I have decided on most of the models based on how much I want to convert /create them. However I would also love to be at least semi-competitive in games..
HQ
CSM LORD: Bike, MON, Claw, Fist, SoC - 164 - keen to use this model as a base: http://goo.gl/rfmhp
TROOPS
7 PM's: 2 plasma guns, Combi melta, rhino - 243
7 PM's: 2 plasma guns, Combi melta, rhino - 243
Fast Attack
Helldrake Bane Flamer - 170 - Going to use a Blight Drone since I don't digg the standard model: http://goo.gl/yWtiW
5 CSM bikers: MON, 2 melta guns, melta bombs - 165 - Cool conversion opps abound here.
ELITES
5 termies: MON, All with 2 claws, Land raider - 452 - Love the look of L claws and the LR offers an excellent opp for a center piece of the army.
HEAVY
1 Obliterator: MON - 76 - Need to build my own models, GW's models eat a bowl of gonads
1 Obliterator: MON - 76
1 Obliterator: MON - 76
5 Havocs: 3 AC's, 1 missile launcher, MON - 135
Allies
HQ
Great Unclean one - 190 - The FW model is basically the best thing since sliced bread so it's a must.
Total: 1990 (I think)
Thoughts guys? I really have just gone with how this army will look on the field, in the hope that it might be ok in battle too with a bit of tinkering. Would this list generally eat dirt in 2K games?

Righto, thanks for the advice, didn't know that. I'll add them, maybe reduce the Oblits and bikes by 1 or something. Automatically Appended Next Post: Any thoughts on Nurglings VS Plaguebearers? Tarpit vs scoring unit? Models both work for me, leaning toward nuglings since they're basically tiny little Unclean ones and the puppy dog in me goes ..awww.

With the current slew of gametypes, one extra group to move up and snag an objective is always a good thing in my experience. Especially since your list isn't numbers heavy, with more guys to sit on objectives you don't have to worry about being shot off one.
That being said, PMs make excellent objective babysitters; my unit of 8 PM camped my objective in the Emperor's Will gametype I played today 5+ turns under sustained fire. So maybe you don't need more.

Furry muff, thanks Laughingcarp, good point. The old instability thing might be an issue, except the 'Rust' rule for the PB's make them pretty good in a hord, might see if I can scrounge a few Extra points and get a unit of 15 going. Also thoughts on Obliterators? Flexible yet very expensive and sill vulnerable to Instant death even with MON. 2 Oblits will run you 152 with MON. Is that money better spent on something like a Forgefiend? Shot for shot the fiend outperforms them, as do 5 Havocs, I think, just not as flexible. What do you guys think?
Also I have upgraded 2 Termies to have chain fists with their L-claws, should be more suited to take vehicles now, at the expense of 1 biker.
Revised army list below
HQ
CSM LORD: Bike, MON, Claw, Fist, SoC - 164 - keen to use this model as a base: http://goo.gl/rfmhp
TROOPS
7 PM's: 2 plasma guns, Combi melta, rhino - 243

Helldrake Bane Flamer - 170 - Going to use a Blight Drone since I don't digg the standard model: http://goo.gl/yWtiW
4 CSM bikers: MON, 2 melta guns, melta bombs - 145 - Cool conversion opps abound here.
ELITES
5 termies: MON, 3* Double L-claws, 2 Chain fists with L-claws. + Land raider - 468 - Love the look of L claws and the LR offers an excellent opp for a center piece of the army and more firepower.
HEAVY
1 Obliterator: MON - 76 - Need to build my own models, GW's models eat a bowl of gonads

Allies
HQ
Great Unclean one - 190 - The FW model is basically the best thing since sliced bread so it's a must.
10 Plague bearers - 90
2000 Points
Thoughts guys?

HQ:
The only problem I see is running bikers and termies in the same list. I would either run just bikes or termies and the Lord would go in the unit. Termie lord with power fist and combi-bolter would cost 130 without SoC and 155 with SoC.
Troops:
Nothing. Maybe another unit due to the point level, but sometimes PM can hold a objective all game.
Could also drop one rhino to let that unit sit on the home objective.
Fast Attack:
Drakes are amazing.
Removing bikes would give you more points.
Elites:
Would give you a good amount of points back if you chose bikes over these guys. Also would hate to see them run or lose CC due to not being fearless. Termie Lord would fix this.
Heavy:
I love obliterators due to fluff and enjoy how they're kind of a swiss army knife, but their major downside is not able to use the same weapon for two turns. So if you need to take unit down and you miss or fail to wound, it's hard to do more damage to the unit. Sadly, I don't have a lot of experience with these guys due to havocs able to put out more damage out and are able to continue after. I've heard of people DS them near vehicles that need to go down.
Havocs are always good.
Allies:
Would love to get myself a GUO, so use him!
Maybe more PBs
You might have trouble with fliers and there should be at least two at this point level. Also, I feel like this list has too much to pop vehicles but not a lot for MEQ or fliers, I don't own a forgefiend and don't think I will due to seeing them not returning all their points in kills. I also see them as a easy FB point.
Hope this helps. Now go make Papa Nurgle proud!

haha thanks, I agree with most of what you say actually, I've been playing with the idea of removing the bikes.. as it happens I already have s semi finished conversion based on Typhus which I could use as a lord in Termie armor. Have made a few changes, new list below.
HQ
CSM LORD: Termie Armor, MON, Claw, Fist, SoC - 184 - Joins Termies in LR
TROOPS
10 PM's: 2 plasma guns, Combi melta, rhino - 315
10 PM's: 2 plasma guns, Combi melta, - 280
Fast Attack
Helldrake Bane Flamer - 170 - Going to use a Blight Drone since I don't digg the standard model: http://goo.gl/yWtiW
ELITES
4 termies: MON, 2* Double L-claws, 2 Chain fists with L-claws. + Land raider, D Caster, Havoc Launcher - 441 - Love the look of L claws and the LR offers an excellent opp for a center piece of the army and more firepower.
HEAVY
5 Havocs: 3 AC's, 1 missile launcher, MON - 135
5 Havocs: 3 AC's, 1 missile launcher, MON - 135 - Maybe the 2nd squad should be more infantry based?
Allies
HQ
Great Unclean one - 190 - The FW model is basically the best thing since sliced bread so it's a must.
15 Plague bearers - 130
1980 Points
Options:
Remove 2nd Havocs and find room for a second Helldrake
Remove second Havocs and replace with Aegis gun platform thingy.
Remove second Havocs and find room for a Forgefiend
Not 100%, whats' the consensus?

In defense of the Obliterator, I've found fantastic success with hiding them in a set of ruins in/near your deployment zone and alternating between Lascannon and Plasmacannon. It works out really well, because on the Lascannon turns you can pop high value targets like vehicles, flyers, big beasties, and then on the alternating turns with the plasmacannons you can drops a couple of small blast markers and either pop light vehicles, or go infantry hunting.
While I'm not going to tell you to drop your lord and termies in Land Raider, as I'm apt to run roughly the same thing in my Ultramarines army, but you do create a rather large and juicy target, that you hope is survivable enough to get across the board before it blows up. But with that said, I do like the set up. And if you're looking to still run a Lord on bike, here is an alternate suggestion for a lord a retinue like group would be the following:
Lord w/ MoN, Bike, Power Axe (dropping the guns on the bike for this), Black Mace, Sigil of Corruption, and add in VotLW and Meltabombs if you need to. This build comes out at just under like 200 points if I remember correctly and creates a melee beast that can move across the board fast. To run with him, I like to give him 15 ablative wounds in the following: 5 Chaos Spawn w/ MoN. This is a fantastic tarpit unit, and the Lord has enough firepower to win challenges/put the hurt on infantry. Since neither the Black Mace or the Power Axe are Specialist Weapons, you get the +1A from dual wielding regardless of weapon, so on the Charge your Spawn are attacking with at least 15 WS3, STR5 Attacks and the Lord is swinging with 5 + Daemon Weapon if he uses the Black Mace or 5 attacks if he uses the Power Axe
Now that's just something to keep in mind.
As for the Havocs, I tend to take 3 to 4 Autocannons and have them sitting behind operating a Quad Gun. In a single turn that's 10 to 12 autocannon shots, with 4 of them being interceptor, skyfire, and twinlinked. If you can spare the points, I'd take an extra havoc or two so you have people to man the Quad Gun besides just the Havoc Champion.
but other than that, I think you've got the pieces for a good list
