Ok, I think this may be the right forum, and I hope I'm not breaking any rules, but I felt the need to share this awesome mod. Essentially, it's just a team that has modded Dawn ofWar II: Retribution to include a whole host of new units, wargear and even the Grey Knights and Tau. In addition to this, they've increased squad sizes by double, more codex like, and increased the pop cap to 400 - allowing for epic scaled battles ala the original Dawn of War. It's pretty epic, so I thought I'd share for those whole want a bit more out of Dawn of War II.

As a bit of a disclaimer, I am not affiliated with this mod in any way, nor am I one of it's creators, I'm just a humble Dawn of War fan, sharing it with fellow fans. Enjoy!

Looks very impressive. Excellent work from the mod team behind that.

Yeah, it's pretty damn epic - a definite improvement on the vanilla DoW2. To be honest I quickly got bored of DoW2 multiplayer initially, but this mod has definitely revived my interest in it.

Thank you so much for this.

I had a previous mod wanting to increase cap, include more units etc for DOW 2 but it seems development has stopped, so thanks again for posting this.

Not interested in the Marine changes. What are the changes that add in Inquisition and Tau?

Melissia - The Tau can be found by selecting Imperial Guard in multiplayer, and then selecting the Tau Commander. Unfortunately, due to Relic's lack of modding tools, the mod team couldn't add in a whole new race, so instead they took away the Inquisitor from the IG, and added in the Tau. Once you've selected the Commander, in game all the units are Tau - Firewarriors, Stealth suits, Hammerhead tanks etc. are all present with war-gear included.

On the subject of the Inquisition, you can't choose the Inquisitor as a hero, but by playing as Space marines, and then upgrading to Grey Knights via the HQ, you can unlock the Inquisitor as a recruitable unit in game. However, be sure to select or create the GK colour scheme for your SM's first or your GK will be a different colour due to the re-skin process.

So don't worry - all is well. Honestly though, take a look at the marine bits because they'vve put in a lot of effort there and it's a vast improvment

Hm. Are they actually different than the IG in terms of stats and abilities, or is it just a remodel/retexture (however good)?

I saw the screenshots-- I'm just not really interested.

I did notice that the ai on 3v3 matches likes to just leave it's stuff at it's base. Still trying to find people to play a match with. I'm enjoying it a lot though. I finally feel like I'm fielding an Imperial Guard army and not a platoon that somehow acquired a baneblade lol.

@Melissia - I played the Tau for half a match, but I kind of got a touch bored with them. Not because they're bad in-game (I didn't really play long enough to find out), but simply because I'm not to keen on the Tau as a race. hence, I don't know how they play against other races - however, I'm willing to bet it's similar in play style to the IG, but with more powerful ranged units, and less powerful close quarters ability.

@zman111 - Yup, it's good!

@Silent Apocalypse - You may find it hard to find non-AI players as it's a mod that I gather isn't updated any more and I don't think it'll have a huge following...
