I decided to paint my DV csm in the per heresy emperors children purple or extinction angels scheme and now struggling to think of which fleshy colours would work well with the purple. I have been considering the standard pinky flesh so the purple stands out, but open to ideas.

Any ideas??? As I've hit the wall hard lol




Edit - OK still can't decide on colour. What do you reckon on a dark green flesh to go with the purple? My csm are purple and green as it is so how does it sound?

Well one option could be a very pale grey-ish skin with just a very thin wash in maybe purple or red. Or even going more into the white.

I have no helbrute painted that way but a few marines. So those aren't the best reference but might allow to give you inspiration.






And i did a test model for my possessed with a pale pink and margenta wash that might work. I never finished it but it might give you an idea how the purple armor and pink skin combo would roughly look like.



Sadly i can't find my notes where i have written down how i archived this. But i think it was something like this.
Basecoat with mix of fenrisian grey and emperors children pink, the layering with adding white into the mix in different stages. Then i washed the model in margenta wash.

thank you OP for posting this an to you doomhammer for the pics! looks great! i too am looking for good pinky flesh tone tips as i am painting up a small horde that is mainly going to be in Tzeentch colors(save a few squads of "fallen" who will be in the traditional black/super dark green and gold color scheme) but i too have a hellbrute i was in the process of painting and hit a wall with the fleshy tones. i was thinking Pink flesh would off-set the blue and gold very well!

I used GW cadian flesh washed with a dark purple wash

any pics corvus? id love t see the end result of this as it sounds SUPER simple yet effective!

Awesome looking possessed doomhammer you need to get him finished! Love the raw flesh tone, I'm considering that or more of a pallid grey colour. Do you have any images corvus? I'd like to see if its any good for mine.

Dude that is amazing!!!!!! How did you get that effect The colours are really gruesome. I love it.

It's deamonette flesh drybrushed with ushabi bone then screaming skull with a sepia wash in between. The veins were painted over the top then washed with sepia again.
It was actually quite simple
