Hey everybody,

This afternoon I tore apart a cheap, and badly built, Land Raider Redeemer from eBay and built myself an Ares. Thought I'd share it with you lot.

From this:

To this:

The original model had the Flamestorm cannons in the wrong position, and a set of Salamander Doors (which I managed to salvage and stick on eBay), so I stuck her in the freezer for a couple of hours then snapped it in half down the edge. After trimming the Demolisher front, it fit in great.

The trickiest bit is extending the Siege Shield, which had to be even larger than normal because of the spaced armour, but some plasticard did the job fine.

I'm waiting to get some FW doors, but I think I'll paint the rest up in the meantime.

Thanks for looking.

I am currently taking commissions.

Looking great. Just need to drill the assault cannon barrels!

Seriously though it looks a lot better than before.

Very professional looking job!

It's great to buy dodgy models off eBay and turn it into a nice model. Very eco friendly apart from the cheap price.

Good work!

I'm writing a load of fiction. My latest story starts here... This is the index of all the stories...

We're not very big on official rules. Rules lead to people looking for loopholes. What's here is about it.

Its really amazing what some people do. I don't understand some people. I've done a few eBay rescues. Its very....saddening what some people do to models...

There is a word for a wargamer with an empty paint bench.

Dead.

I agree. Some of my most rewarding stuff has come from ebay rescues. Great job on the mean looking leviathan of a tank.

When you can't see the drunk guy at a party, you should look for the nearest mirror.
