Okay, so after lurking here for a while, I appear to have successfully passed my reserve roll and gotten around to registering. So, the abridged version of my life story goes here, I guess...

Been playing 40k since I was knee high to a Gretchin, my Dad introduced me using the old Rogue Trader rules. (Second editon had come out by then, but my dad always was a little behind the times) and I've been playing ever since. I'm even the treasurer of my local gaming club, which I helped set up.

Started off playing Chaos Marines, still got them kicking around in a box somewhere, don't really use them anymore. Moved onto Tyranids, had much fun eating my foes, got slightly bored with winning by swarming people with Genestealers, so on to the next challenge. And along comes the 5th ed Dark Eldar release. Glass cannon aspect was tempting, so I went for it. Even had an average result at a Throne of Skulls tourney using them.

Then came something I did for a laugh after 6th ed came out. I noticed I could take allied Grey Knights with my Dark Eldar. Two boxes of Terminators later, I have myself the start of a Grey Knight army which has now also seen tournament use.

Current project is Eldar. Always had a few kicking around, now they're epic again in 6th ed, it seemed like the smart thing to do. They'll be my tournament buddies later in the year.

I play mainly for fun, but come on, who doesn't like winning? Just not at all costs. Sure, I'll take the occasional cheesy unit, but never a full army.

Acceptable painting standards (tabletop standard +1 I like to think of it as), and I do enjoy a bit of kitbashing. Most of my armies have converted HQ choices in one way or another (Iron Warriors warsmith in full servo harness (Pre Warpsmith model), made my own winged Tyrant, bodged a Succubus out of spares and arm swapped an Autarch).

Outside of the tabletop universe, I'm a bit of a geek, (and by 'bit of a geek' I deserve some kind of award for understatement) so don't be surprised to see the odd reference to popular science fiction stuff.

So yeah, that's me. Questions, comments?

Welcome aboard, BunnyCommando!

That's quite an intro. Do you have any pictures of your stuff? Would be interested to see your kit bash/conversion work.

Like tournies, eh? Ever tried your hand at narrative campaign events (where it's less about winning at all costs and more about playing the units you want)? If you're interested, check out http://www.animosity40k.proboards.com.

We're always after fresh blood!

The Iron Warriors Warsmith has, sadly, long succumbed to gravity once too often to be worth repairing (shame, because he was awesome. He was dual wielding these funky flail things made out of the Old Skaven Plague Censers).

But the Tyrant and Succubus (parts from at least 4 or 5 kits makin gher) live on. I'll see about getting them to pose for the camera.

I've considered campaign events, never gotten around to one though. Might look into it early next year (I like to do 2 events a year, and this years quota is filled already)

Hi,

Welcome to Dakka
