Been having a couple of problems with Blog View...

1) Since it was added to the site I occasionally get an error where the page stops dead after a 'closed' comment. I hadn't mentioned it before since opening the comment also opened the rest of the page although sometimes with a new error where a quote tag hadn't been shut and the entire page below was in a huge quote box. I won't leave any links since this appears to be completely random and appears to be nothing to do with individual pages.
This isn't a big deal but could use a fix in case it causes bigger issues later.

2) An issue I've had a few times is that some blog view pages shut down my browser before it loads. This may run deeper as I have sometimes found that the thread pages compressed into the blog view page do the same thing. This is extremely annoying as you can imagine.
The places I can remember having problems:
Heavily throughout this blog.
Near the end of this one.

I'd just like to say I've had the same issues recently, with different blogs, also on Firefox, although this is on a rather limited work PC.

I've never had the issue at home using Google Chrome, maybe it's a Firefox thing?

It is a memory management issue - the amount of content and javascript required to drive the blog pages is enough to kill some older browsers, and firefox is especially vulnerable to this due to a few related bugs it had (especially in older versions).

I can only apologise - it is part of the reason the blogs were not introduced sooner, but it will fade as devices improve over time.

Ah that's a shame, I'll swap to another browser for pages that give me that problem in future then. Thanks for the info Lego!

Interesting to note:
This got so bad yesterday that a lot of Dakka pages wouldn't open, even in normal threads. My browser was crashing constantly so I restarted my phone and cleared my browser cache. That was it, problem solved. So this must be tied to the some sort of temporary memory, probably the cache?

I'm very happy to know I can fix it, a bit, so easily. I hope that helps someone else.
