I am in the process of repainting my 2nd ed IG army and one of the consequences of this is that I need to rebase all my heavy weapon teams.

Basically I need about 30 60mm bases, my only stipulation is that they are the same height as the GW 28mm bases and that they aren't overly detailed as I will be basing over any details.

Any suggestions as to where I could get bases cheaply?

Its just a shame that they couldn't fight off Andy Chambers.

Buy a sheet of Perspex the correct thickness and draw round an old base. Cut out then paint as required. It's cheap and easy

Proxie models sells cheap plastic bases, not as tall as the hollow GW bases though. http://www.proxiemodels.com

thats 4.50 US for 8 bases, but in the quantity you need it might be a better idea to buy a circle cutter and buy a large sheet of 3mm thick plasticard.

If you don't want to cut them out, yourself, Renendra sell an 8-pack of 60mm rounds for £2.50. Everything you need plus two extras for £10 is about as good as it gets for ready-to-go bases, as far as I can tell, and the shipping would be domestic.

Haven't ever used them, myself, but according to reviews, they're about the same height. The bottom is textured, as opposed to hollow, for traction and they appear to be straight-sided, but if you're basing and painting I doubt most people will even notice a difference.

One other possibility is to make a mold and cast your own.
Be they resin or greenstuff push molds.
If you take a fresh base, decorate it (maybe 2 or 3 variations or more) and then duplicate them, theres nothing at all wrong with that.
Oyumaru/instant mold + greenstuff or some other epoxy putty should work fine tbh.

I got some Renedra bases, they will be noticable shorter than my other bases but I will see what they look like in the flesh, if needs be I could always double them up.

The problem with Ebay is the postage, not many people have 30 bases to sell it would seem

Just bought a bunch of these from this seller, nothing fancy, but cheap and get the job done. By the time you've decorated them a bit they'll be fine!

Litko will make any kind of base you want. They already have a 60mm round. A pack of 50 in 3mm plywood will cost you $9.75 plus postage.
