Utilizing Careful Highlighting

I had a super easy paint scheme for doing Blood Gorgon chaos marines that would look really good on Dark Eldar.
Basecoat black, any bright silver paint over armor bits, then watered black ink to sharply bring out details without darkening the metal. Then, several heavily watered down coats of P3 Red Ink to achieve the level of bloody metal you want. Loincloths are bone with white highlights and agrax washed, skin is P3 Thrall Flesh with varying brown and flesh washes (you want some diversity in your evil space elf skin tones). Do a light red ink on the tips of any cloaks or loincloths for that bloodstained skin effect and voila, minimum effort dark eldar that look great on the tabletop.

I've always thought a cheesy silver looked best on them. Like those old astronaut army men, but with more spikes. Don't know why, just like the asthetic of evil silver space monkey elves bent on galactic domination and torture from their flying silver metal bawkes of sphess.
Other than that, dark red or white is cool. Even grey. Good luck

I'm potentially going to get Ana over at chest of colours (the best painter I have ever seen) to paint up my DE. They are called the Kabal of the shattered star and are a mix between the colour of oil on water and a planetary nebula. Very complicated but extremely effective.
