I recently finished painting a set of terrain boards but found the paint wore away quite easily. Like if something knocks them or any kind of friction meets the paint the affected area lightens up to the primer color. I was thinking a clear spray might do the trick but wasn't quite sure. Does anyone have a low gloss method for securing the paint on their terrain?

Cheers!

I like using polycrylic, it give a very hard finish, and is waterproof

My dad and i do some automotive stuff on the side, so I have access to automotive clearcoat which is what I use if I need to seal stuff (it's shiny though, so probably not what you're looking for).

This would probably be bloody overkill, but I'd recommend going down to the local hardware store and asking for a clear matte sealant. If they ask what you're using it for just say you have a craft project and want to keep the paint fresh or something like that. If it's good enough for hardwood floors or auto paint it's darn well good enough for a 40k terrain piece. It shouldn't run you too much, relatively speaking since this hobby stuff is so expensive.

There's my contribution. If there's something more suited to the hobby and doesn't come in gallon jugs I'd like to hear about it.

Also, if you're referring to realm of battle boards then put them in the bag with a sheet of bubble wrap between pieces that go face to face. If you don't do this then they'll wear no matter what.
