Okay, so I'm planning on hitting Throne of Skulls in November and was thinking of going something like this:
Dark Eldar Primary detatchment.
Succubus with Agoniser 85
9 Wyches
Hekatrix with Agoniser
Hydra Gauntlets
Raider with Flickerfield 200
10 Kabalite Warriors
Raider with Flickerfield 160
6 Reaver Jetbikes
2 Heat Lances
Arena Champion with Agoniser 186
Second Reaver unit as above 186
Allied Eldar
Autarch on Jetbike
Fusion Gun
Fireblade
Mantle of the Laughing God 165 (I think, working fron memory here)
6 Windrider Jetbikes
2 Shuriken Cannons 122
Second Windrider unit, as above 122
6 Shining Spears
Exarch with Star Lance 170
Defence line with Quad Gun 100
I make it a few points shy of 1500. Ordinarily I'd take HWG on the Wyches, but points said no in this instance.
Plan? Speed, speed, speed. I control what happens and where it happens. I hate taking the defence line in a themed army, but without it what's a pointy eared guy to do against aircraft? I could potentially ditch the Shining Spears for a Crimson Hunter Exarch, or squeeze a Razorwing in there but in my experience there are Quadguns everywhere at tourneys and the Flyers are made of something only marginally stronger than paper...
Thoughts? I already have about 80% of the models (including the flyers), but money isn't a massive issue for me right now, so I can probably go and splash out on any suggested units...

Who's maning the quad gun? I like the list alot but it looks like everyone will be moving fast on a jetbike or in a transport which leaves nobody behind to man the gun, meaning the points you have tied up in the line for the gun are a little less effective. Unfortunately I can think of much better AA for 100 points in a list unless you could free up a few more for a crimson hunter or a group of flakk walkers.

Oops, forgot that. The Kabalite warriors man the Quad Gun, the Raider is just there to fit the theme and provide an extra gun.
Freeing up the points for the Hunter wouldn't be a problem, I'd have to ditch the Shining Spears to even take the Hunter, which means I only need to find 10 points from somewhere. (Or don't make it an Exarch, which frees up points).
I guess I could drop the Spears, defence line and Flickerfield from the Warrior Raider, run a non-Exarch Hunter and throw in a Flickerfielded Ravager (with Disintegrator Cannons) for a bit of AP2 fire support.

For the autarch, I would suggest changing the firesabre to the Soulshrive from the Iyanden supplement, it's the same point coast, wont change your list at all, and I think, the soulshrive is waaaaaaaaay better. Or if he is going with the shining spears you could give him the celestial lance; although its 5 points more, but for that to happen you would have to get rid of the mantle which I would definitely keep.

I don't have the Iyanden supplement (yet) so don't actually know what the Soulshrive does. But from what I understood, if you took items from the Iyanden relic list, you couldn't take the Remnants of Glory, so no Mantle.
But like I say, I don't have the supplement, so I might be wrong on that one.

oooooh, I forgot about the mantle being a remnant of glory, I still think the soulshrive would be a better investment though with it being ap 2 and adding strength when you kill anyone.

Soulshrive is S3, AP2 master crafted. For every unsaved wound caused it permanently adds 1 strength to the user.
|
So far the effectiveness of 10 Wraithblades with Ghost Axes:
Tanked 2 Leman Russ squadrons (including the battle cannons and the triple plasma variant); whilst also getting wailed on by everything imaginable in a Fortress of Redemption. Only to get into CC with the tanks and open them up.
2000 points worth of Necrons with Forgeworld additions. Got into CC with a court of Lords and opened them up.
Killed a GUO.
Killed Angrath the Gargantuan Bloodthirster in an Apoc game (with the help of Iranna the Spirit Seer).
Ate a Hammerhead, pathfinders and scored after 3 turns of walking towards a 2000 point Tau gunline and overwatch!
And counting............ |

Ooh, that's got some potential. Shame I'd have to lose the Mantle, but then I guess I can throw him in with the Spears or a unit or Reavers as bubblewrap.
