I am playing a small game with friends soon. There will be 2 teams of two people with 600 points. So essentially a 1200 point game.

The strategy i plan to employ with my list (below) is. The Immortals and Overlord camp in the middle of the board, holding objectives and tanking damage with the lord's ress orb. The destroyers will target soft targets or harass units that would try to ram through the immortals.

I believe that my partner is playing Tyranids although I don't now what units he's bringing. And I believe my opponents are playing Eldar, and Dark Eldar.

Please scrutinize and give feedback and suggestions to improve the list or my tactics.

HQ:
Necron Overlord:
Warscythe
Resurrection orb

ELITES:
N/A

TROOPS:
Necron Immortals X9
Gauss Blasters
Necron Immortals X8
Gause Blasters

FAST ATTACK:
Necron destroyers X4
Heavy destroyer upgrade X1

Feel free to be plain and blunt in your scrutiniseation. I'll try not to cry

Keeping in line with what you outlined, I'd recommend the following:

1. Switch immortals to Tesla. If your teammate is doing bids, more than likely your opponents won't be advancing as fast as to benefit from the Rapid Firing of Gauss. Tesla works better at longer range even without an AP value.

2. Consider dropping to just 3 Heavy destroyers instead of a 4:1 unit. Heavy destroyers are amazingly precise and powerful. With PE and a 36" range, they can take out any tanks or monsterous creatures with ease. If you aren't going against these types of units, then they are practically instant killing 3 models per turn (unless your dice roll 2s often). Doing this will free up 40points which I'll cover in #4

3. Ditch Res Orb for Sempternal Weave. In my opinion, a 30 pt Wargear for an increased ~17% increase to resurrect a 17pt model means you need to roll 2 4's for it to pay for itself. I per using a weave instead to give my Overlorda 2+ save and then to put him in front of the unit to tank the incoming shots. This also ensures my Overlord is in front and always in base to base with an assaulting unit in the event there is no challenges if I run Mind Shackle Scarbs.

4. Use the spare points from #2 & 3 to add a Sempternal weave Lord for your second immortal group. This will provide another tank and allow a bit of extra padding in kill points and objective holders if The Lord makes his Everlasting roll after the squad is wiped out.

At 600pts, you have a pretty solid list. Pairing yourself up with nods tends to mean you'll be more tactical to your friend's assault mentality. Overall, looks good even if you only do #1.

I agree with the destoryers... go heavy instead of normal.. this will allow you to sit back with them or hide in deep cover to keep them safe. Plus the extra punch of this shots is always good.

I would beef the immortals to full units of 10, and add a few teks to the mix. If you want to be more mobile, add a veil tek.. More shooty... Destructek... etc etc..

I wouldn't change the Resorb out for SW.. I would try to get them both in a perfect world. I also never use my Olord to absorb shots for a troop unit. ( unless I'm also running the phase shifter) Maybe its my meta but way to much ap2 shooting out there and giving up points and slay the warlord isnt' high on my list.

- 4500pts: Shinzon Dynasty
3000pts: Hive Fleet Empusa
- 3000pts Rampagers
