AdventureQuest and the ensuing sequels and prequels have been tons of fun.

Newgrounds is full of all manner of good brower based flash games if that's the sort of thing you're looking for.

Not really looking for flash games, more specifically persitent browser games like cybernations.

Urban dead is also really fun, especially if you die!

Played Jagged Alliance Online for some time. Really fun - surprising how you can make games look in a browser nowadays.

I'm very much looking forward to Shadowrun Online, which will run on the same engine. If you missed its kickstarter, you can still join in here. It will have a F2P portion as well, but I figured I should at least mention its contribution scheme.

Also, I agree about Urban Dead and Nationstates.
