What builds and strategies do Daemons have that can contend or even possibly beat the most popular armies at the moment? As in, answers against: Farsight Bombs, Necron Air Force, Triple Heldrakes, etc?

I played against a 1k Demon army at a tourney a couple weeks ago that wrecked shop on my BA. He had Kairos Fateweaver, and a huge unit of Khorne Hounds. He had other stuff, but that's really all he needed. Those things are fast and will get to assault in turn 2, pretty much no matter what. He came in 3rd overall. That's a good start to a list, from there add what you have/ feel you need.
I think Demons are just gonna struggle against air based armies however. I'm not super well versed in the codex, so maybe someone else can help out there.

Yeah, Daemons got some good stuff like dogs, fiends, BoN, BT, etc.
They really don't have a problem with Fliers though, since they have so many FMC's that Vector Strike.

I'm thinking hounds are the all-purpose thing really. Walkers can be dealt with by MCs. Flyers can be dealt with by Slaanesh and Tzeentch Princes, though I'm at a loss for the other things like Dark Eldar poison and the like.

Lvl 3 Slaneesh flying DPs (x2/3) with triple biomancy, a greater daemon of Nurggle decked out, beasts of Nurggle, and some troops of your choice... The portal is nice to keep pooping out troops during the game.
