Hi everyone,

I've been shamelessly trawling through Google to find inspiration for a massive project for my next army and came across this post:

http://battlereporter.blogspot.de/2008/12/best-warhammer-fantasy-army-ever-seen.html

Looks like it is from a long time ago so apologies in advance if this is old news - but I'm just staggered by its brilliance.

Does anyone know how you'd even start to get anywhere near this kind of effect? What are the glowing models made from to allow for such colour and transparency from the light inside?

Any ideas would be great to read!

It says so right in the article you linked:
The glowing hearts of the models were made from a keychain light mounted into the base. I sculpted all of the torsos, heads and other fiery bits, took a mold and cast them in clear resin. Then I assembled them around the LEDs and used paints and inks to give it the fiery colors. I ran fiber-optics into the eye sockets and as a trail of sparks behind some of the fireballs. This took me nearly a year just to figure out how to do it, and then about six months of work to actually execute. But the results exceeded even my expectations.
