So the only thing left to do is put the head on when it gets delivered. I'm going to be using the defiler head with the T-shaped visor. Let me know what you think. It's been completely reposed and had the baby carrier removed. I tried taking some pics outside but they aren't really great, hopefully the gist of what I'm doing with the model can be understood haha.

It looks wonderful, well done! Which way is the head going to be facing from the models perspective i.e will he be looking at his sword arm or his flamer? from my view it looks as if he would be swinging his sword at an enemy behind him so he would look that way, but what am I to know great job once again!

I had imagined him looking toward the flamer side ready to skewer whatever survives as he's running into the foe.

Here's 2 pictures of the back as well, since I forgot them in the first post.

This is the progress I've made since I initially posted. He's still headless since the first got lost in the mail, but since I need him for a tournament this next weekend I had to get him painted up without a head that should hopefully arrive this week. I also sill need to paint the tubes and wires and do some freehand squad markings for the armor but Let me know what you all think.

Nice, I really like the centre console from the drop pod used in this fashion I'd be tempted to not add a head to it at all. Maybe just another viewing device or some such.

Once your tournament is done, maybe go back and use some liquid green stuff on the join lines. There are a couple that deserve the attention, along the top face for example. They may not be noticeable from a normal viewing distance, but photos expose all don't they

Thanks for the kind words everyone, this has been a fun project converting this model up.

@ourroburross yah your the third person to say think about having no head, I'm really getting torn on whether I want one now haha. And yah I started noticing all the joint lines as I painted it. I should have fixed them before hand but they'll get closed up.

Hmm I think I'd like to see a head on it, if it works. What you've got is interesting though! I like any dreadknight without the baby carrier so kudos

Looks really good! I know this might be a dumb question but not in a GW context. Are you mounting the head between the shoulders or out of the chest (ala Orks and old Chaos warriors)?

@Kidkyoto - I was gonna mount it off the top but slightly forward like a neck. To give him the appearance of big muscular hunched shoulders kind of in the vein of the hulk. I imagine the dreadknight as big and hulk like, just this robotic guerrilla basically rampaging across the battlefield. Since the defiler head I'll be using it just a sensor cluster with a face plate I think it will fit pretty good in that positioning.

Also thanks for all the kind words everyone, it's very appreciated.

So I'm pretty much finished. Put the head and collar on. This next week I'll finish gap filling and touching up the paint. I also need to put cals on the front of the collar but i leave for a GT tonight so i wint be able to finish. But let me know what you all think.

Woah, that head totally didn't go where I thought it would: I was picturing it in the centre of the big glowy circle, giving him a hunched position. Still looks cool though.
Don't really like the wings at the base of the glowy bit. Not sure why, but maybe if it was sunken into the model, instead of being flush to the bit above? OSL on the eyes maybe as well?

That being said, I agree with Cakie: who can disagree with a 40k iron man.

Yah the eyes are definately getting that glow effect like the rest of the army has. And the head didn't go as I planned either haha. I thought it was gonna be a bit bigger so I could put it right over the glowing circle. Since it was so small(thanks google you liar;p) I had to adlib the collar from a ork bomma bit I had.

As to the wings I'm not really sold on them either but I had a bunch of negative space I had to fill and they were the best I could come up with haha, since I also needed to account for the twisted "dynamic" waist positioning.

Gorgeous! I really like the pauldrons. What are you going to do with all the room you've got on the base? From his pose it may be cool to see a freshly-beheaded foe on their knees before him...

Thanks guys glad you all like it!

I'm still undecided and looking Ito my options for the rest of the base. I've been thinking about dead space wolves(pre heresy 1k sons) so I may go that way.
