Hi all, this is my 1000 pts list any sujestions on what i should get to make it 1500? all the models in the list is what i own atm excetp i have 1 warlock that is not in the list.

Farseer, jet bike, sinning spear, mantel of the laughing god (160)

5 Rangers (60)

10 dire avengers, Autarch power lance, shimmer sheild, WS, scatter laser Holo Fields (295)

6 Eldar jet bikes 2 shrunken cannons (122)

Fire prism, holo fields (140)

1 war walker with scatter laser star cannon (70)

Falcon bright lance, holo fields (150)

up the warwalkers to 3 (Scatter lasers and BL)

drop the falcon for a Wraithlord or a fireprism.

put another squad of troops in a wave serpent.

Farseer on bike is good. But having run on his own is not a good idea.

Rangers are poor. Eldar are about mobility having static Rangers isn't great, though just 1 min squad as you have for objective camping isn't too terrible.

Dire Avengers in Wave Serpent is a bad idea. Guardians fit with a Wave Serpent much better.

Falcons are bad double up on the Fire Prism instead.

Don't take BL + SL War Walkers it is a poor config.

As for what to do with the remaining points. Get 2 more War Walkers for the squad. Get more units in Wave Serpents or drop the Serpent for more Jetbikes. Warp Spiders would also add AA to the list and fit the mobile theme.

WW with dual BL of 2xSL is the way to go

I would dump the mantle so the Farseer can join that jetbike unit that nets you 40pts.

Swap the DAs for another unit of guardians thats another 50 points. With the guardians I would either drop the weapon platform to a shuriken cannon or take s star cannon or bright lance. SL is the worst weapon option for guardians as you get no use out of its laser lock or its extra range. BL gives you some AT but is only really worth it if you also have a spear in the unit. Starcannon adds AP2 and Shuriken cannon just adds more bladestorm dakka for less points.

If you drop the support platforms all together you get another 40 points.

That's enough for either a second Fire Prism (which would be my choice) or another 2 War Walkers.

Why do people not like the SL with BL on the WW? I really think it adds functionality to the squad, and gives it a lot more shots. running double BL only adds 1-2 more BL hits.

It seams to be a polarized issue, I'm just curious what is the correct configuration for WW in a TAC list.

I've done quite well with Rangers so far, a couple of small squads (I usually go for 7/8 man) are good at holding objectives in your deployment zone. It's nice to have something that can pick models out of a unit and also offer a threat to MC's. They always seem to survive for me by just never being quite enough of a threat to be targeted but they still cause some damage. Also pretty cheap.

Well the first question is what role you want them to fulfil. Now the Eldar codex as a whole kills MeQ and TeQ pretty darn well with half rending everywhere. Likewise between monofilament and the Serpent shield light to medium vehicles should go away pretty quickly. However FDs are now too pricey to use as throw away AV13-14 killers. But Wraiths can fill that role.

So if you want them to kill light to vehicles and hordes SL and Shuriken Cannon is the way. You want to hunt MeQ with a side of TeQ and light vehicles SL + SC is the best bet. If you want them to kill AV13-14 and then go after multi wound terminators then double BL is the best bet.

If you want them to be generalists then take BL + SL or just go out and get that SM army that would suit you better. The Eldar are a codex of specialists working in concert. The BL + SL combo is anathame to this...

I want to keep the avengers in as i had a lot of luck with them in smaller games. i know its a lot of points down the drain but i don't like the guardian models as much so for a painting perspective ill keep them in (or till i get more guardians)

what do you think of list?

I think this list might work it. when i make it 1750 ill add the second prism tank, another war walker and a warlock for the guardians

That actually looks quite solid. A bit light against AV13-14 as the Wraiths are the only unit with any sort of reliability against that. So for me the War Walkers would better support the army with double BLs.
