Just to make sure I understood a thread I made long ago regarding power attacks and buying extra attacks:
Is it possible for me to walk up to a Feral Warpwolf with a Carnivean, two-handed throw it, and then buy extra melee attacks to attack another model in my reach? Furthermore, would it be possible to buy a ranged attack instead of additional melee attacks?

Yes, you can purchase additional melee attacks against other eligible targets
No. You need virtuoso or a similar ability to be able to make both a melee attack (power attack) and a ranged attack (hypothetically purchased) in the same turn.

Okay. That's pretty much what I thought, but I just wanted to make sure. I appreciate the help.

No problem man, The devil is in the details, especially in warmahordes. Those nuances determine more games than expected, and if you don't know them you can't 3. ????, 4. Profit.

You can only make either melee or ranged attacks in a particular activation(unless you have Virtuoso)
A throw is a melee attack, thus you have elected to make melee attacks this activation. Thus you can only buy melee attacks after the throw.
Power attacks make you give up your initial attacks, they do not prohibit you from purchasing additional attacks.
Hope that clears it up. It can be hard to wrap your mind around warmachine at first but once you have it it runs pretty smoothly.
