Not sure why I'm having such a hard time finding this info out:

What size 40k/Fantasy base is Karanak and his fellow hounds supposed to be based on?

I'm assuming they're on regular cav bases, but what about 40k?

They go one normal calv bases.

I not sure if GW sells the round edge ones but they are also acceptable.

I believe that the khorne hounds are on rectangular bases. It's shown on GW's website and in the daemon codex. Like bike bases, not the round ones that seekers have. Then karanak has a 60mm round base

Karanak came with a normal-sized cavalry base (same as normal flesh hounds) when I got him from some old blister pack not long ago.

Hmm. So is there an idea???

They are currently on 40k bases atm, so the hounds are on 25mm, while Kar is on a 40mm

In the 40k daemon codex on page 72, Kanarak can be seen on a 40mm base.

But I think its pretty open to interpretation what hounds go on. Bike bases are a huge (28mm bigger than the square cavalry bases). I personally use 40mm bases, though I've seen others with 28mm (if you're using tiny chaos hounds) or the square WBF cavalry bases (which I think look really out of place in 40k)

Well, I know they changed the jugger bases, but didn't really say much. Kinda like the new Wraithguard going to 40mm bases.

Isn't there a guide out there or do they just expect us to know?

They expect you to use what comes in the box/blister.

Yep, this.

My Flesh Hounds are the old 3.5 edition ones, which came on 40mm round bases so I use those, even for my non-GW hounds.

Mine came with the rectangular cavalry bases, so that's what they're all on.
