I'm building up a drop pod and dreadnought themed list, and am looking for feedback

(135)Captain - Combi-plasma, Powerfist
(250)Command Squad - Razorback, Las+tl-plas; 4xPlasma gun
(245)Tactical Squad – Drop pod; Combi-melta, Powerfist, Melta gun, ML
(255)Tactical Squad – Drop pod, Deathwind launcher; Combi-melta, Lightning Claw, Melta gun, ML
(280)Tactical Squad – Aeigis Defense Line; Flamer, Las Cannon
(225)Tactical Squad – Rhino; Combi-flamer, Flamer, Las Cannon
(220)Ironclad Dreadnought – Drop pod, Deathwind launcher; Melta gun, Heavy flamer, 2xHunter-seeker
(140)Dreadnought – Drop pod; Multi-melta
(150)Dreadnought – Drop pod; Assault cannon
(100)Thunderfire Cannon

The whole army uses combat squads; one combat squad with combi flamer/flamer rides in the rhino which races ahead with the razorback, while the remaining las cannon combat squad sits at the Aeigis line along with the other las cannon tactical squad. The two metla dreadnoughts drop first turn along with a melta squad, and turn 2 the AC dreadnought drops with the remaining melta squad. I still have some building to do, and want feedback before I commit.

Roland - Chaotic Good: Saving existence was just a side quest.

"Do not suppose, my dearest sons, that when I have left you I shall be nowhere and no one. Even when I was with you, you did not see my soul, but knew that it was in this body of mine from what I did. Believe then that it is still the same, even though you see it not."

I can't say much about the command squad, I have never used one myself as they just haven't looked that great. But with the 4 plasma guns in a razor, it looks like its trying to do the same job as an IG CCS in a chimera but just cost a lot more. You've also got quite a few power fists, I'm not a fan of them on sergeants myself. With regards to tactics, I'd drop all dreads first and tacs later. Gives them a bit of a surprise and keeps your scoring units in reserve so they can come down later. The rhino and razor unit probably wont achieve much since the vehicles are so weak and prone to dying.

What I'd do:
Spoiler:
HQ
MOTF 100

Elites
Ironclad - 180
drop pod, switch SB to HF
Ironclad - 180
drop pod, switch SB to HF
Sternguard - 185
5 combi meltas, drop pod

Troops
TAC - 220
meltagun, combi-melta, multi-melta, drop pod
TAC - 215
flamer, combi-flamer, HB, drop pod
TAC - 215
flamer, combi-flamer, HB, drop pod
TAC - 190 (MOTF here)
flamer, combi-flamer, lascannon

Heavy Support
TFC - 100
TFC - 100
Ironclad - 180 (because of MOTF)
drop pod, switch SB to HF

Fortification
ADL - 85
Icarus Lascannon

Total: 1950

So here you have 7 pods, 4 on turn 1. Bring down the 3 ironclads and the sternguard first. The AV13 of ironclads is a huge difference to regular dreadnoughts and after a few abysmal failures, I only pod in ironclads. Plus they have move through cover so no immobilising yourself . With the option of a HF or a meltagun the ironclads can go for any target when they deploy. The sternguard are for big vehicular threats that need to go so have extra meltas for insurance.

At home is the only TAC squad without a pod attached to the MOTF. As he is BS5, he's on the icarus and it makes him and the unit T7 to shooting***BOOM! HEARSAY***. Along side are the 2 TFCs, these will clear any hordes easy. The last 3 TACs in pods are for objectives, the melta unit incase anything tough is still around and the flamers to clear infantry off them.

There is 50pts left over to do whatever with. Could change the icarus to a quad gun, but I prefer the chances of a 1 hit kill over glancing to death, YMMV. Or add meltabombs to the sergeants or bulk out the sternguard squad a little.

BTW- rahxephon, the Icarus lascannon does not make a unit T7, only artillery does. The Aegis Line gun emplacement does not make anyone T7 as it alone has that perk.

It is the rule in war, if ten times the enemy's strength, surround them; if five times, attack them; if double, be able to divide them; if equal, engage them; if fewer, be able to evade them; if weaker, be able to avoid them. - Sun Tzu

Oh, pwned.

Rather interesting thing that. One of those situations where I hear it from someone else and just accept it, now looking at the book it seems that that was not the case.
