I've been reading the Iyanden suppliment and I'm trying to come up with a good list. Here is my first crack at it.

HQ

x3 Spiritseers - 270

Farseer - singing speer - 105

TROOPS

10 Wraithblades - ghostaxes and forceshields - 320

5 Wraithguard - Wave Serpent with holofields and brightlance - 295

5 Wraithguard - D-Scythes, Wave Serpent with holofields and brightlance - 345

HEAVY SUPPORT

Wraithknight - 240

Wraithknight - 240

Wraithknight - 240

TOTAL = 1995 points

The 10 man Wraithblade deathstar will have both the farseer and a spiritseer. the other two Wraithguard unit will each have a Spiritseer. In the case of the D-Scythe Wraithguard, the spiritseer with them will take the Iyanden primaris power, since being able to run and shoot with them will make their D-scythes all the more deadly. Turn 1 both wave serpents move flat out towards an objective and camp there, hopefully the 4+ cover save will help them survive for at least a while.

The Wraithblades will either sit at a home objective, or if I'm feeling dangerous, will make the slow trek across the field. WIth both a spiritseer and farseer boosting them, they should be all but unkillable..

Obviously one of my wraithknights will be the Warlord. The Wraithknights will be my anti-tank and anti-TEQ/MC. they will keep to the back, taking out heavy vehicles first, then MCs and TEQ, assaulting only when it is a sure win.

What I like about this list is that pretty much everything is a priority target. The wraithknights are obviously a have a huge "kill me!" sign on their necks, and since they are jump MC if they're not taken care of quick they'll be ing the enemy's face by turn 3 at the latest. Then their are the wraithguard that once they bunker down will be hard to shift from an objective. And then finally there is the 10 man wraithblades that will probably be ignored until its too late.

Some questions about altering the list and Iyanden lists in general:

*Is there any way to add Prince Yriel to a list? He's THE fluff HQ for Iyanden but I simply don't see how I can take him without sacrificing a vital spot for a farseer or more spiritseets,

* Hemlock Wraithfighter - another cool fluffy option, but it doesn't seem to do much. It looks good against TEQ and thats about it. Or am I looking at it the wrong way? Should I even consider it?

Now that the supplement has been out for a while, has anyone run a spirit seer council? What has their luck been with it?

Well, you'll make yourself not many friends if you run 3 Wraithknights.

Competitive play, not casual. And I'm wondering what experience people have running them. Playing GK, CSM, and DA I have little difficulty killing Wraithguard and wraithlords, The only thing the knight has is more wounds and a potential 5++, which worried me until I read in the tactics forum that anything but the basic knight is too many points and not worth it.
