I don't have my rulebook with me and was wondering about something.

If I have an IC manning a gun emplacement, for example Gabriel Seth shooting the Quad Gun, would those shot qualify as precision shots, assuming I got a 6 to hit?

2) yes. The model shoots the Quad instead of his own weapon, but it's mostly treated as if he was carrying the weapon around.

What, didn't you know that the best sniper rifle is an Icarus Lascannon on an ADL with a Vindicare manning it? Special Ammunition at 36" and below, and Str. 9 AP 2 with rerolls at 36"+ Why have 4+ to wound a normal MEQ/TEQ special character like Abaddon when you can wound them on a 2+ at a mega long range?

It's pretty funny though. I tried out the FoR one early on with a friend using Typhus and Zombie hoard. I stuck something in the figure of 15+ wounds on Typhus and he died pretty quickly.

Look at the gun encampment rules. ANY weapon in the game can be put onto a platform and called a gun encampment, following all the same rules. Imagine if you designed a gimmick around this, you could have him doing assassination shots with a RailGun, devastator cannon or even a deathstrike missile system!

Well. The FoR is imba because it's a 96" Str 8 AP 3 Barrage Large Blast... lol

Potentially with every hit being a precision shot if done with a Vindicare assassin.

I did it once. It was delightfully dirty.

Uh, page 63 of the Rulebook says "shots from weapons that scatter, or do not roll To Hit, can never be Precision Shots."

From the way you folks are using it, does this only apply when you roll an arrow on the scatter dice? Do you get precisions if you roll a "hit"?

It is a special rule in the gray knight codex, page 53, called Deadshot.

To call them precision shots is not entirely accurate, no mention of that word is used at all in this special rule. Instead this special rule provides you with a very similar ability, but one lacking all the other restriction concerning when they come into play or how they work. Needless to say it is this special ability, though also the weapon a Vindicate Assassin carries, which justifies the high cost this individual model has. Nor was it ever intended to be used in this way, but thanks to the new gun emplacement rules there is a lot of shenanigans to be had.

Ah, so basically this is allowed for Vindicares but not similar chars from 6th (such as the Eldar Pathfinder SC). Thank you for the clarification Jinx.

I've done it once so far. The vindicare accomplished exactly nothing. He managed to fail every single shot. Not just everything he shot with the Icarus, but trying to shoot tanks with his own weapon he also completely failed.
