Making a CSM Nurgle fun list , I want to take a nurgle daemon prince as one of my HQ's . My pal and I had some debate over if my nurgle daemon prince can take war gear from the daemons dex not just the CSM dex. I would think I would have to take some daemon troops in my list to get access to the war gear in the daemons dex, Looking for insight on this issue .

You may only take options in a codex the unit is bought from.
You could have a deamon ally though, your deamon prince being the mandatory HQ for that.

Yep, no mixing codices on a single unit/model. If you buy a DP from the CSM book, you can only use the wargear/options/rules in the CSM book.

B0B has a decent idea, though: if you like the Daemon DP's gear/rules better, get some Daemon Allies! But remember, your DP will not have (for example) Mark of Nurgle--he'll have Daemon of Nurgle.
