So, odd post here. This isn't a selling post, so I didn't post in in the swap shop. But I have 3 war machine starter sets and 2010 faction card decks I bought from someone a while back, I thought I'd like war machine, but as it turns out, I have no interest in it. All of these starter sets I have are poorly or incompletely painted.

I really don't want these miniatures, so I contacted blue table painting to see if they'd want them. They indicated they're worth about $50 in store credit for pre-owned miniatures. That's not too bad. However, BTP doesn't really have any pre-owned miniatures I'm interested in. And their prices are quite high.

My question is what is the value to war machine players of 3 starter sets, cryx, khador and menoth? I suppose the 2010 starter card decks are completely worthless.

Should I strip the paint off them and sell them on eBay? I was thinking, would they be worth more on eBay if I actually took the time to give them a decent paint job? I'm by no means some kind of pro-5x über golden daemon winner, but I can at least do a good to high quality paint job.

I'm just really uncertain how best to, well, get rid of these unwanted models. :p

Again, not a sell post here, I'm just asking advice from war machine players, as I honestly know very little about the game or what these could be worth.

Thank you for any advice, and mods, if you feel this post is inappropriate for this forum you have my apologies.

Honestly, you have several options in dealing with this.

The first option is get 'em fully painted and make them look TT level. Doing this you MIGHT be able to get full price or a little better on them.

The second option is to sell them off as is, but you're going to get 15 to 25 % of the retail value.

Really, it all depends on what you feel is really worth it to you, as it's a buyers market when it comes to second/used models.

Agreed i think your best way would be to paint them up to TT and then who knows, Go around to the local FLGS and see if they have demo armies out. they might take them off your hands.

Also there is always ebay.

Honestly, if they're incompletely painted, probably just strip them or leave them - unless you're a quite good painter, it's not worth painting them well for the price increase (unless painted to a quite high standard, it probably won't increase your take by much, if at all). They'll probably go for $15-25 each or so, throw in the cards with the respective armies. You might be able to get a better deal as their RRP is $50, but you can buy a starter set for $35 new in box online, and second hand is never going to get quite that high, even if they were untouched.

Perhaps try to sell them off for $60+postage as a set to start with, or $25+postage per kit on Buy Swap Sell (or whatever selling website you feel like using), though you might have to aim to sell close to you as postage costs could be a problem. If there's a local Warmachine club, going there to sell them off might be your best bet.

On a side note, the 2010 starter deck cards are still good, as they should be mk. ii cards and the rule set is still the same. That doesn't help much as far as where to sell them at, but I figured it would be of some importance to you.

Ok thanks guys, good advice here. I think I'll strip and paint at least one in the default livery and see if I can sell it on eBay.

Thanks again!
