Varying cities in the North

Hello, and here we have another Ork army ready (not at all ready) to show the world.
Basic fluff goes like this:
An up-and-coming Ork Warboss was been kicked out of the Bad Moonz for trying to organise an uprising against the Warlord, which unfortunately he failed. He was marooned on a deserted moon with a pistol with one round. Whilst trying to survive upon aforementioned moon, he managed to find enough local life forms to survive on. Unbeknownst to him, however, these local life forms (which aren't a usual Ork delicacy) made him immensely strong, and his strength and size grew and grew. After months of being stranded, he woke to see an Ork kraft landing nearby, a worrying sight, for even he could not take a whole Ork ship single-handedly. But when he saw that it was his loyal second in command Squigeata emerging from the hull, he knew his escape was imminent. The krew of the ship were those Orks whom had remained loyal to him, and wanted him as their leader, their Kaptin. So, Kaptin Blackfist led his small raiding party to plunder and pillage many planets, mostly defended by Imperial Fists. The band of marauders gained more and more loot, and more and more expertise in battle, the more they fought. Soon the force recruited a retired Ork Warboss, 'Old Choppa', from a planet not too far away, where he had been happily spending his days hunting 'umies and eating squig pies. However, when bribed with the promise of enough loot to sink a Krooza, he gladly signed up, bringing some experience to counteract their Warlord's wild, unpredictable and 'Waaagh!-ish' ways. Kaptin Blackfist has a personal battlewagon, Mork's Revenge, and his name 'Blackfist' was derived from the dreadnought arm he wore in place of his left arm, which had been cut off in single combat with that very same dreadnought that he had promptly torn apart (which, you guessed it, had a black fist). His size makes him a formidable opponent, his skin so thick that he barely needs armour, no blade can pierce him. His band loot mostly the Imperial Fists and occasional Eldar or Tau scouting and expeditionary forces in their neighbouring systems, but as their power grows, revenge is on their mind, for their failed uprising and their marooned Kaptin.
Army List

The army is going to be more for show than competitive (it is Orks), but any C&C is still welcome.
Here are some WIP pictures, these models have all been created from a plethora of bitz as well as some miniatures that I made and painted when I was twelve, so weren't in the best condition. Sorry for poor quality pictures (phone and all that) and the amount of blu tac holding them together in places, I've tried what I can do to make the images as good as possible. Again, C&C more than welcome.
My Warlord, taking Ghazza's rules.
And again, made from a Lotr troll mainly.
Old Choppa
Of course that is the Black Reach Warboss
Meganobz Squad, and now for the individual shots.

Very nice conversions. IMO the counts as Ghazzy needs some spikes/blades on his "Power Klaw" but however you want to do it, he is already awesome looking.

It's been a while, stuff going on and whatnot, but my wooden pirate ship has finally arrived, it will eventually be counting as a battlewagon after being suitably Orkified.

The only problem I'm facing is how to put it on a base, it's quite heavy so the base used on a Stormraven would be difficult to balance...
Any suggestions would be most welcome.

Looks great.
The 'joints' where the wooden kit fits together look out of scale. Cover them up. Green stuff, or orky plates with rivitz or something.
Nice job.

Made a funky little objective marker just because I had bitz lying around, it's a mechanical flying shark thing. Orks love those mechanical flying shark things. Although I can't quite fathom how the Imperium would justify wanting to capture it.
I'm going to repaint it of course, it's made from a Forgeworld Grot Bomb, the Grot ripped out and green stuff taking his place.

Once again I feel like I'm talking to myself as my blog slips to page 2 of the forum, but hey ho, I made some bikes.
They are based on Space Marine jetbikes (made using this tutorial) and then a bit of dakka and ork riders were added. I'm not sure about the outcome, but that may be to do with the appalling paintjob previously on the bikes I salvaged for this (just you wait and see). Hopefully when sprayed etc they'll look a lot more badass. I plan on basing them on CoD ruins to make them seem like they're flying. Yes, this will give their weapons an unfair advantage having a better Line of Sight across the board, but I'll just measure from a normal level, as if they have to swoop in to take shots as the altitude (albeit a tiny difference) jams their weapons or something. And let's be honest, Ork shooting isn't what I need to be worrying about.
Here you see the majority of the jetbike conversion in all its horribly painted glory.
And another
And my final bike (my favourite so far)
Because of my mixed feelings towards these, I'm not sure whether or not they'll feature in my final army, but if they do I'll get a couple of Eldar jetbikes too. In other news I started painting my Meganobz, pics as soon as they're finished!

Really interesting concept.
Don't worry about the lack of responses at the beginning of a plog. It happens to everybody, just give us users something to comment on and We'll do It.
Keep up the great job!
WAAAAAAAAGH!

Hey don't feel discouraged because your blog goes to the 2nd or 3rd page, that happens rather quickly in the blog sections. Just keep it up man. I'm really digging your bw conversion, and the flying bikes. Very cool so far

Indeed. The amazing community of DakkaDakka has so many projects in mind, it's bound to happen.
Orks on jetbikes... WHERE IS YOUR GOD-EMPEROR NOW?! D:
Keep it up, these Orks are amazing!

Ahh thanks guys, I haven't done a blog before (and I don't frequent the blogs often) so I was just unaware of the likelihood of this happening.
And thanks everyone for the great feedback, as I said, I'll try to get a few models painted up soon.

Avast! Shiver me timbers, I have some models painted up!
Please bear in mind that I'm not a particularly good painter and I don't enjoy the painting side of the hobby too much (perhaps the two are linked), they're a bit messy but I think they came out fairly well! Here are my converted Meganobz, 'Da Krew', painted in their Bad Moonz colours (looted from the nearby Imperial Fists), the bases will be done shortly, once I acquire my Rust Wash from Vallejo (I think).
Ta-dah! Criticism always welcome, thanks for looking!

i like it. the power armor is too complete though. some orky bits on the legs / shoulders / chest would help.
i cant imagine a nob would want to keep all that imperial bling.
glue something over that tau symbol.

I commend you on painting in Bad Moonz color. Not only because I'm a fellow Bad Moonz player, but because yellow is a tricky color to pull off and it looks like you did it just fine.
Also, rust wash?what? Just paint the parts rusted. It's quick and easy.
Metal paint (or white base with a black wash)
dry brush, with a mix of stippling at the the time with the brush, orange where rust is
same method with brighter orange
Done. Or if you want, a wash of brown wash. Then done done. It's really quick and easy and it's how I do my rust.

Ahh that rust technique sounds great @KingCracker, I'll try that
And @jcress410 I kept it to portray the Imperial/Tau insignia and shizz as trophies of battles won that these Nobz are showing off? But I may cover some of it up.
And thank-you very much @BloodGenisis.

@Largeblastmarker I was going for quite clean Orks, just for the uniqueness of it tbh...
Anyway, I've been away for a bit, so I'll get back on the hobby horse (pun so intended) and try to paint a character, I'm thinking Old Choppa needs some paint.
