Ok so I was looking through my IG codex and I realized that I could use Creed's tactical genius to outflank a squadron of bane wolf tanks. I think this is an amazing tactic but I'm surprised that I've never seen an IG player use it before. Is it against the rules or is there some hidden downside to this that I'm not seeing? I think that if used in conjunction with a vendetta squadron, the opponent will need to choose which unit to focus there interceptor shots on. I mean a bane wolf in the opponents deployment zone is almost as devastating as a heldrake and it's almost guaranteed a full round of shooting before it gets destroyed. I just want to make sure it's legal and effective before I go out and buy Creed and 3 banewolf tanks.

The problem is the bane wolf has pretty limited range, and your opponent will most likely keep their vulnerable units away from the table edge. When your bane wolves appear at the wrong table edge and out of range they will get chewed apart.

It does sound fun, I think I will try it on my next go. As for being really amazing, like competitively, I'm sorry I just don't see that happening. It's nice and all but Mech armies will give it trouble, bane wolf chassis are only decent at taking hits and it would be competing with outflanking leman russes which will more than likely survive and be killing a lot more.
As for myself I'd also probably do it with hellhounds over bane wolves anyways just so I wasn't quite as limited as to what I could kill. Don't get me wrong, a bane wolf is the bane of hordes but that's all it really scares.

I would sign this contract but I already ate the potato

I was thinking it would be great against my friend who plays eldar. He always brings a 10 man reaper squad and puts them in the back corner. The unit costs around 400+ points (including the attached Fraser) and is really annoying when night fighting is in affect.

It doesn't seem that bad considering they are fast, so outflank, move 12 then have a 8ish shooting range.
