Imperial Armour 8 has an Ork codex variant where Dreds are troops and Kans are Fast Attack.. and buzz saw on the Deffkopta is also cheaper by 15.

I don't know where Kans are troops.

Meks don't build Killa Kanz. - THIS IS WRONG, MEKS MAKE KILLA KANZ!! Grotz do. But I agree there should be away to take Killa Kanz as a non-scoring troop unit. I suggested that they become a dedicated Transport for gretchins. Fiting 5 in a Kan. which means that you would have to take at least 2 for a unit of Gretchins and not only did you not have to take a Runtherd, you couldn't take one. This would making them scoring units as well.

Also a unit of 26 Gretchin would have to take 6 Kanz. If you took 11 Gretchin you had to take 3 but couldn't take 4 or more.

Forgeworld and other non-40k varients are usually only allowed in Friendly games. No official GW event (unless it clearly says you can) allows the use. For friendly games the other players have to agree to their use as a "House Rule" if one person doesn't, you can't play it

To be more precise - Forgeworld is legal in games of 40K. However, since most people are unfamiliar with the rules, it is best to get their permission before hand. Of course, anyone can refuse a game with anyone else for any reason (i.e. I only play people whose armies are painted predominately purple (not really, I could care less how your army is painted)).

Greebo had spent an irritating two minutes in that box. Technically, a cat locked in a box may be alive or it may be dead. You never know until you look. In fact, the mere act of opening the box will determine the state of the cat, although in this case there were three determinate states the cat could be in: these being Alive, Dead, and Bloody Furious.

Ok, the Meks build them. so Right, you are.
But what do you think a Mek takes more pride in the Kan or the Dread?

Can you imagine, refusing to play because you don't like their paint job? This is a person who will be doing a lot of watching and not a lot of playing (thank you for the joke I needed the laugh). But I've been reading a lot of rules for tournies and most of them either clearly say No Forgeworld or suppliments outside of GW, or say Most recent updated codexes of 40k only. Both ways stating NO FORGEWORLD ALLOWED! (sorry I'm an old fart, I might be the only one who gets the Peanuts reference). There's also the fine print that GW Events, puts out that says unless otherwise stated only Official 40k rules and their codexes are valid for Games Workshop sanctioned events.

So I have to say, we are debating the Fluff, not the Proposed Rule, can we please get back on track. thank you

Meks build both Killa Kanz and Deff Dreads, it says so in the Codex. It's just that Gretchin go in Killa Kanz and Orks go in Deff Dreads.

I'm hoping in the new Codex we have some way to take Killa Kanz as Troops. I personally think Big Meks should give you the option.

I should probably just take that sentence out of my comments. Thank you Maurepas.
Here in Proposed Rules you don't have to wait for the codex or you can state what you want the codex to have.
So what do you think of Killa Kanz as a Dedicated Transport for Grotz? Just making another non-scoring Troop unit, is a waste, since 5 of the 6 missions require taking objectives.

Wait...Non scoring troop choice? At tournaments at my local hobby shop I've totally been using my Deff Dreads to take and hold objectives purely because my Dreads count as troops,

But I would be a fan of that as well, I had heard a rumor of that for either the new Codex or a possible Gretchin army supplement.

I imagine they'd take more pride in a Deff Dread, the only reason Kanz exist is because a lot of Meks don't have the resources to build a mob of Deff Dreads :(

Deff Dreads and Killa Kanz are both vehicles, so they can not take hold or even use an objective. The only thing they can do is contest.

The only bad thing about Meks making Killa Kanz, is that in an all Grot Army, there wont be any Killa Kanz. Then again we are still going to have to wait for the New Codex, so there is a Grot (HQ)

You could easily just have a bunch of Grots stand in for a Big Mek. Give him anything but a power klaw and it'd make plenty of sense.

EXACTLY!!! I have always thought this! The big mek should of at least made 1 killa kan unit take up a troops slot! I always thought they forgot and left the kans out when they wrote the ork codex, but it never got FAQ'd. Alas
