While I know the Solitaire is a large debate...I am going to try him out for a bit before I make a decision. Biggest issue with my list...no good warlord...it pretty much has to be Baharroth right?

I finally have a good mix of anti infantry and AT I feel and I have been working on tailoring this list for a while.

Baharroth was taken because he causes headaches for my 2 toughest opponents...Tau and Necrons...who are both easily blinded.

As of now the 2000 point version inserts a Warlock and Night Spinner.

HQ
-Baharroth

-Autarch (Mantle of the Laughing God, Jetbike, Fusion Gun, Laser Lance)

TROOP
-10 Guardian Defenders
---Wave Serpent (TL Scatter Lasers, Shuriken Cannon, Holo Fields)

-10 Guardian Defenders
---Wave Serpent (TL Scatter Lasers, Shuriken Cannon, Holo Fields)

-10 Storm Guardians (Flamer x 2)
---Wave Serpent (TL Scatter Lasers, Shuriken Cannon, Holo Fields)

FAST
-Crimson Hunter

-Crimson Hunter

-10 Swooping Hawks (Exarch, Sunrifle)

HEAVY
-Fire Prism (Holo Fields)

-Fire Prism (Holo Fields)

Well, an Eldar army doesn't need a super Warlord, it never did.
A Farseer or Spiritseer is a support character not more. Use her like that and spend the points elsewhere.

Between the two though...Baharroth is the obvious choice for a Warlord?

Just heartier and less in the thick of things.

Farseers, Spiritseers, and Autarchs just dont fit well into my army.

And I don't like jetbikes beside the Shining Spears...which is a horrible place for a bike seer to be.

Well, you could also try an Autarch with warp pack leading a unit of Warp Spiders.

That is a very fair and intelligent idea. Probably the best idea for a Mechdar Autarch overall.

If I didn't have so many GK Interceptors and massed mid strength shooting wasn't so old news to me...I would be all over the Spiders.

Warp Spiders are probably the best bet in the FA section of Eldar bar the Crimson Hunter. Ask Flingitnow, his armies always contain a certain amount of Spiders.

I am well aware. I believe they're the best unit in the book personally.

While I am competitive, Spider just don't scream "fun" to me...and that matters a lot to me.

Whereas Baharroth and friends blinding tactics are undoubtedly fun and solve what I am finding to be my biggest weakness (Pathfinders/Broadsides and Gauss Warriors)

You think it might be worth getting an extra bright lance or starcannon on any one serpent?

For balance.

Well, in 5th edition I ran mech Eldar with just S6 spam balancing this out by Fire Dragons. These guys still rock when it comes to popping tanks or getting rid of MCs.

Word of warning when running a Warp Autarch with Spiders. When you roll doubles on the Warp Jump, a RANDOM model is removed. So this could very well be your Autarch. Of course if a bit of russian roulette sounds amusing to you, then go for it. I've still been running my Autarch with my Spiders, haven't gotten screwed yet!

Definitely something to note...

Quick math tells me that a unit of 5 and autarch give the autarch a 3% chance of being removed...with each jump...with likelihood decreasing as the squad gets bigger.

How do Inititiative tests work again?

Dice must be equal to or lower than your initiative to pass?
6 always fails...

Is that right?

So Baharroth and friends have an 89% chance of effectively blinding an I2 Tau or Necron unit.

67% with the landing of Baharroth alone.

Decent.

75% vs I3
55% vs I4 (need to choose my targets wisely)
