Hi wargamerzz

I am going to make and Indigogo/Kiskstarter (I haven´t decided witch yet) of resin bases. What I wnat to know:
¿is really important for you to have the base beveled?
The regular plastic bases are thin kind but I am using wood laser cut bases to do the masters and are totally straight line.

Since most people are used to beveled bases, I am gonna say that your chances for success increase dramatically by having the bases beveled. Also, having a duplicate pattern that either fits in the rounded edge bases (Warmachine style) or have a rounded lip will help you as well.

Yeah, I don't think straight edges are inherently a problem, but they'll sell better if they fit with people's existing bases.

Loving the skulls and rocks, looks ace. for a lot of things I wouldn't care about beveled edges but yeah it is sure handy having them compatible with 40K/WFB.

While they look cool, they also look like it would be tricky to actually attach miniatures to them.

You need flat space for feet to attach. That's the biggest mistake made by resin base producers... Fantastic scenery is great, but the base also needs to be practical.

If my opinion helps at all (I'm hoping it does) I would immensely prefer beveled bases to straight ones. I don't think I'd ever buy a straight one, no matter how amazing the scenery on it is.

I don't have a valid reason for this, I just prefer the look cosmetically.

Agree with you. I think that base is more useful for as a marker. I always try to leave some space to glue a terminator legs on the bases, nut is difficult to make them for all the miniatures.

I am working hard to get most of the bases done for the 15th of July, when the Indigogo starts.

I will open a threat on the Dakka shop/trade, and invite you to take part on the project. Just for 10€ you can help me a lot .

And one interesting point fo the camping... you make your own packs by size! there are no pre-made packs that force you to buy bases that you don´t want.

A good solution if you want to offer bevelled bases and straight edged bases is maybe do bevelled skirting to attach to straight edged bases?

Taht is imposible :O . But on the campaign I will make a kit ot transform regular bases to that have 0,5mm more if space (like malifaux o Warmachine)

Personally, I find it a bit unfortunate that you only offer base themes that have been done many many times before. Not sure if another set of cobblestone bases is what the market is desperately waiting for.

That is only 1 of more than 15 themes, and the best deal is that you can choose the bases individually, with a good price.
