Okay well I read about this idea for a 500pt corn army. Let me know if I should make any modfications, Im a very new player atm.
-Necron Overlord (bare)
-Night Scythe/Doom scythe (cant decide )
-Deathmark 5-man squad
-2 squads of 5-man Warriors
At the moment I only own the deathmarks and the night scythe/doomscythe is a scratchbuild.

mmm 16 inf models... it feels like you really need to add some survivability to what you've got. I may swap the deathmarks for a heavy destroyer. maybe flesh out the warriors with the left over points? Oh, and i've never never never not gotten the points back from a res orb

The only issue I see with this is you're really, I mean really, dependent on your reserve rolls.

Killing a handful of warriors isn't that hard to do, so if you flyer comes in late you could be in trouble.

as for res orbs, I am not a fan at this point cost but I use them all the time in bigger games. I've had a resorb pay for itself 5 times over in big games.

My necron list is fairly good (IMO) and is as follows:
1 X Necron Overlord w res Orb ( possibly with the better armour thing too, cant remember )
12 X Necron warrior squad W Overlord
8 X Necron warrior squad
1 X Necron Destroyer
1 X Canoptek spider w TL particle beamer( again, methinks) - make ALL the scarab swarms!

Haven't used this army is 6 mths, but ive got a W D L ratio of 5-1-2 and I'm only a junior player. This list will do most things well, apart from heavy AV and melee, but you can mitigate this by baiting small units, using cover and sending scarabs to scare away tanks

This is a poor list. The spider cannot use his spawning capability without a scarab swarm unit and the destroyer lacks a purpose.

I just bought a small Necron army and came up with this:

Overlord in CCB.

5 Warriors in Night Scythe
5 Warriors in Night Scythe

500 points on the nose.

While this looks like cheese on paper, it is very beatable, but very fun to play. While I got it for way below rrp, the army is quite cheap.

As a starting point, it's not a bad start to either a Cron Air list or a list with heavy flyer support.

Im not a fan of that list above^^
CCB is not worth it.. and if its the only thing on the board.. thats a problem

But really at 500 points its such a small game, its what I play to try out things.. so do whatever you want
