Life is like a box of chocolates. A cheap, thoughtless and perfunctory gift nobody ever asked for. Unreturnable because all you get back is another box of chocolates. So you're stuck with this undefinable whipped mint crap that you mindlessly wolf down because there's nothing left to drink. Sure once in a while there's a peanut butter cup or a English toffee, but they're gone too fast and the taste is fleeting. So you end up with nothing but broken bits of hardened jelly and teeth shattering nuts. If you're desperate enough to eat those all you've got left is a. An empty box, filled with useless brown paper wrappers.

Wow, this is really awesome! Really missed this project of yours.

It got me thinking, what about making a rocket to the moon? The Warhammer world has two moons apparently: Mannslieb and Morrslieb. I could imagine the Empire trying to build some sort of rocket akin to the one in Tin Tin or something like that!

That is actually pretty cool! I could imagine the Republic and Skaven both trying to launch stuff into space, kind of like the Soviets and US during the Cold War.

Normally the Skaven seem to do most stuff underground, but you've already dealt with that.

By the way, how did the Empire become the Republic? Sort of akin to the French and/or Russian Revolutions? Could be cool to sort of look into that as well.

Let me see...

Idea 1: the parade
So for a diorama, what about some sort of military march, almost like a Nazi march, through the streets of a Republican city. People are looking out of their houses or standing besides to take a closer look at the parade. In the meanwhile other soldiers drag accused magic users an monarchy sympathizers out of their houses.

Idea 2: purging
The Republic has just defeated some Orcs. However, since Orcs reproduce through spores released from their bodies, it's very important to burn them after they die. So the Republican soldier collect the Orc bodies, put them on a pile and set them on fire.

Idea 3: the steam lord
Basically a more dynamic version of your steam lord model. He's fighting dozens of Skaven at the same time. So imagine his guy hitting one of them in the face while it's jumping up at him. Other Skaven are trying to jump on his back, others run towards him, etc.

More ideas coming soon!

First is impressive but very demanding in resources))
second is great idea, third needs change in model for more dynamism

The first one might be very expensive, both time wise and bits wise. Perhaps do it a bit smaller then. So not a parade, but a bunch of Republican soldiers storming into a house to apprehend a magic user or monarchy sympathizer. He's being dragged outside while some bystanders are looking..

Really curious to see dead Orcs, so I'm very pro of you doing the second idea!

As for the third one, I would imagine you'd need to make a new version of the Steam Lord, it would be a way to relook into the concept you created.

By the way, have you ever watched that animated series Avatar: The Last Airbender and the sequel show Legend of Korra? It kind of reminds me of your project, namely that the sequel show has kind of moved into this dieselpunk/steampunk vibe, moving away from magic (in that show called 'bending').

The idea of the 'Skaven Rebellion' is quite cool, been thinking about a potential different diorama. In the past Clan Moulder created Hell Pitt Abominations, large fleshy rat creatures that would tower the battlefield. However, nowadays they might have more weaponized forms of those floating around in the sewers.

So the idea of the diorama would be as followed:
Some Republican soldiers are patrolling a neighborhood, when all of a sudden a manhole bursts open, a fleshy/ratty figure emerges from it, towering the street. The soldiers desperately try to shoot it as they try to hide away. I would imagine the Abomination to emerge from the manhole kind of like Tetsuo's mutant arm from Akira.

Oh, an emerging mole machine is also cool, and then with some Skaven rebels crawling out of it as well?

By the way, we've been discussing the potential of a SCIROR fantasy setting over here. Yes, we are all of course quite influenced by GW, but the thread might also contain a few ideas which could inspire your project.

What can we expect next by the way?

I love this diorama on several levels! The two vastly differing scenes seperated by a wall really underlines the title and propagnada posters scattered both inside and out really add that polish to it.
You did an excellent job with the contruction and a sublime job with the painting.
