My army's theme is that they are all veterans of the battle of Calth. And being Word Bearers, i'm trying to avoid marks, but sometimes they are too good to pass up. I personally hate the inclusion of flyers into 40K, it's a game of small scale ground combat. Therefore, as great as the helldrake is, I will not include one in my army...plus I think the model is hideous. This brings up my next point, I'll never include a unit if I think the model is fugly...i'm looking at you oblits. Now as for my HQ choices, I still don't know which one I want to stick with, so consider all HQ choices completely interchangeable for now. That being said, here is The Brotherhood of Calth!

No, no, just use helldrakes and nurgle.....wait, a list that's not just the same thing? Wait, what's going on here? Forgefiends? I think I need to see a battle report!

The first problem I see is how do you fit 5 HQs in?

Thats why i stated i only take one HQ but have plenty of options. What makes it weak?

you may have first blood issues with the rhino's and possibly helbrutes. But it looks like a fun list otherwise. i'd love to hear how it performs.

for your HQ i'd lean towards the termy lord or the bike sorcerer

Hmmm...first blood, i'll have to keep that in mind. Personally im leaning towards the sorc on the bike. Ill have to post a pic once hes painted. Plus its hard to pass up a T6 warlord. I wanted a fun but still competative list that wasnt an internet cookie cutter list. Its gonna need tweaking but i think i found it.

How do you plan to use them? Offensively? Defensive? The HQ you take should be whichever goes with your play style. So, play a bunch, let us know and see which HQ works well with your army.
Oh, and my SOB army has first blood issues with my rhino I use as mobile cover for my seraphim. Not perfect but sometimes you gotta take a hit.

I'm going to play to dominate the midfield. Keep peeps out of my AO while destroying the opposition with dakka and moving troops in to take objectives. the bikes and termies are there to keep the enemies on the back heel and reacting to me. I want the initiative and I want to keep it.

Mostly friendly/casual. Im fluff first, painting and modeling second, gaming third. Though if i win alot (not likely) i could turn competative.

Is this for a game where it is okay to have too many HQs?

Also, you upgrade the power fists on your helbrutes with heavy flamers, then swap the power fists out for power scourges/thunder hammers. This means you lose the heavy flamers.

LOL! I like how he mentioned twice that he has several HQ options but will only take two. He just needs to find out which works best. Let's see how many others will wonder at using 5 different HQ's.

Yes, its for games that use 5 HQs.

Definitely right about that rhino giving up first blood easy! So I got rid of the rhino, added a squad of slaanesh raptors and changed my terminators to be more shooty. I switched out some unit upgrades to pay for the changes.
