I've chosen wasteland theme for my chaos + traitor guard army. check my link bellow.
A major factor for that is that i have build wasteland theme terrain in my house so i wanted to be same.

Do you have ay particular themes to your modelling/painting of the orks that would lend ideas to the paintjob? Or any particular background ideas?

Otherwise:

Scrapyard (always good for orks)
Blasted Battlefield (strewn with ash/corpses)
Jungle (plus fungi for orks)
Urban Decay (broken streets, graffitied street signs)

Sand and tuft foliage.

Quick and looks quite good if you can get sand with size and colour variation (GW basing sand is actually very good in this respect).

Thank you for the ideas... im thinking maybe a more broken down area with ivy and plants growing on the road and other terrain. Feel free to comment on my idea for basing. Hopefully, i will have pictures of them coming soon on this thread or another. By the way, your night lords look really good Avedominusnox.

Yeah, scrap/junk - these are the easiest to do.

There are tons of suppliers for these kinds of bases....and they are easy to make on your own, with just random junk (from bits, to spure, to even parts of old electronics).

Regarding the ivy...that is a cool idea.
Might have a hard time finding the scale vines - could use stiff string, or wires maybe.

For scale leaves, check

best of luck!!

Since multiple people suggested scrapyard im thinking i might make an abandoned scrap yard considering orks will scavenge just about anything. It would have broken down vehicles and such with rust and other effects showing its age. Tell me what you think of this idea.

How to, basing ideas:

1) Picture the scenery you imagine your Orks would be in;
a) Ruined City
b) Jungle
c) Wasteland
d) Spaceship/hulk
e) Frozen-waste

2) What would be a common feature on each to tie them in;
a) Tile / brick / rubble
b) Vines / grass / stumps / leaves
c) Sand / scrub grass / rock
d) Grates / mesh / metal plate / rivets
e) Snow / rock / ice

3) Details:
a) Cut brass rod or tiny pipe for shell casings.
b) Raised features for character type models.
c) Scratches, blood, pieces of armor on the ground.
d) Add fender washers, shot, coins on the underside for weight.

Considerations:
There are many ready made bases that are fantastic, but in the end you may have to use normal bases so think of what you will do to every base so that at least each squad came from the same place.

It is a great chance to do creative work without stress because it is "only" the base.

I sculpted a teddy bear on the base of one model just to see if someone would notice... they do!

Just going with Talizvar's suggestions, and I've always wanted to suggest this rather crackpot idea since I'll never get round to doing bases like this, but .22 rimfire casings are perfect in size and shape for using as shells, and I mean BIG artillery shells, on a base. Running with that then, if you can get your hands on some .22 cartridges, (spent or simply with the gunpowder removed and the heads replaced), then you could go with some sort of ammunition dump theme for your orks.

Your bigger vehicle/flyer and command characters could include the .22 'shells', whilst the smaller bases could simply include spent rounds (Anvil Industry do some good ammunition belts that can be cut up into individual rounds) and ammunition cans dotted around.

On second thoughts, it's probably better for a diorama piece, or fixed terrain, but I reckon it would look suitable orkish whichever way it's used!
