Subject: Using blood angel allies with a Farsight bomb

One problem I often have with my Farsight bomb is I have to pull it back to help protect my gunline, so I had the idea of taking blood angel allies and taking a few squads of assault marines as troops. They'd be just as mobile as the bomb and would be way better bubble wrap than kroot. Also, if you took a sanguinary priest, I'm pretty sure he could confer fnp on your bomb as well. Has anyone ever tried this? Do you think it's work?

The key to strategy is not to choose a path to victory, but to choose so that all paths lead to a victory.
War is beautiful because it establishes man’s dominion over the subjugated machinery by means of gas masks, terrifying megaphones, flame throwers, and small tanks. War is beautiful because it initiates the dreamt-of metalization of the human body. War is beautiful because it enriches a flowering meadow with the fiery orchids of machine guns. War is beautiful because it combines the gunfire, the cannonades, the cease-fire, the scents, and the stench of putrefaction into a symphony.

Sanguinary priest only gives FNP to units from codex: BA.
I'm sure there's better allies out there than BA. Perhaps guardian jet bikes?

Oh yeah they faq'd it. missed that. Still, I think they'd make good allies in a Farsight list.

What to BA give you that Eldar, Necrons, or even Ork bikers don't? If you have the models, that's one thing. But otherwise, the BA are very bottom tier.

I'd take Eldar just for the ability to take Divination/Guide... (I'm pretty sure Eldar/Tau are Battle Brothers)
Or Spehss Mahreens for Gate of Infinity on the Librarian.

Well ba assault marines are more mobile then necrons and better at assault than eldar. Ork bikers would work too I guess, although they aren't scoring. Also, just because ba are bottom tier as an army doesn't mean they wouldn't be effective in a supporting role for a different army.

BA ASM just are so... anemic. Still, it might be true that you can't find that combination of mobility and CC (albeit weak sauce CC) in a troop choice.
