Nurgle Predator Driver with an Infestation

Hey everybody! been working hard on finishing up painting my chaos army and with the list i am running i physically own everything on the list, save for the raptors(coming sometime this week to my FLGS), and a squad of plague marines...i do however have chosen from the DV box and feel like i will never use them as actual chose(as i feel they got canned in the new dex)
and i was wondering on everyone's thoughts on converting them into Plague marines?(the lightning claw one will not be a part of the unit but the DA commander the box comes with and the chaos leader dude will be one so ill have a unit of 7) I figure since they all pretty much have special weapons(ie 4 power weapons and a fist) i could chop em up/ Greenstuff em to all look like plaguey goodness. i just will have all the "special" weapons count as their plague knives(i can do some gs and sculpting work to make em look plaguey) and can GS a couple meltagun barrels on to the bolter wielding marines.
anyways is this a worthy venture? or do i just keep the chosen around for "just in case" purposes. I mean i just really never see myself using them as chosen, and i DO need a squad of Plague Marines!
hmmm...help me decide what i should do Dakka!!!!!

As someone who has attempted to convert the DV Chosen, just be aware that it can be challenging. Since they're just two part snap-together models, they're essentailly just one solid hunk of plastic. Trying to change the position/arms/weapons involves carving out chunks. If all you want to do is just GS some masks and assorted rot, then I say go for it. A proper paint job would go most of the way to making them look like plague marines anyway.

The one with the skeletal chest has a tongue coming out of its mouth that would lend itself to being turned into a gas mask. If I remember correctly the arm with the power fist sticks out from the body enough that cutting it off and replacing it with another arm shouldn't be too hard.
I ended up making the one with the mace into a Dark Apostle:
Another issue you'll run into (and that I've run into with all the snap-together models) is that they hardly ever snap together flush. You can see the gap in the shoulder pad. Just be prepared to gap fill with some greenstuff.
Glad I could be of assistance

A good solution to badly fitting snap fit minis is to cut off the pole type things used to connect them, then glue the model together.
As for removing the power fist, simply cut it off level with the bottom of the shoulder pad. Then carefully drill up into the pad, with a little care you can then insert the arm of your choice. That's what I did with this guy.
It's a different model but the principle is the same.

good advice thank you!
I actually had not a TON of trouble with them not fitting together properly so i GSed it to appear as if those cracks in the armor are from the boils and rot tearing it apart!

They look awesome. Love the decaying/roughed up colour used on the armour.
