In anticipation of my Reaper Bones arriving, I've picked up Song of Blades and Heroes. The game looks fun, but I can't wrap my head around activation. Specfically, you activate models in your warband until you fail a roll, in which case the turn passes to your opponent. What happens when the turn passes back to you:

a) Do all of your models count as unactivated, meaning you can activate the models you used in your previous turn? Or

b) Do the models you activated in your previous turn still count as activated, meaning you have to use the models you didn't activate?

Option A.

Basically you can play it safe and only do a single activation per model. That way you can be certain to activate every single model (since you need 2 Failures before play passes / turn ends). But you will probably find 1 activation per model won't get you very far or be very effective in combat. So then you do 2 or 3 every now and then, fail an activation, and pass play. Then on your next turn everything is back to being un-activated. It's not uncommon to have a set of bad luck and pass your turn on your first activation.

Thanks for the answer. I had envisioned a succession of turns in which the same single model activates over and over again, with enough turnovers to keep the rest of the warband from ever acting. But that would just make for a good story over beers later.

Yeah in some cases a really powerful character may want to activate first over and over again each turn so you make SURE to get him activated. Or a bunch of weak models might take 1 Activation each to "get them out of the way" and save the riskiest 3 action Activation for a big guy at the end. Lots of different ways to play it which is part of the appeal of such a wonderfully light and fun ruleset that SoBH is
