I have recently bought and painted a Tau firblade model. Painting those little insignias is a real pain. Now, the only blue I had was ultramarine blue, which I thought was too bright for Tau skin. So I decided to paint it grey then wash with blue. Do you think it's blue enough?

Looks really cool, I like the grey/blue, makes him look battle hardened and old.

Yeah dude, that technique works a treat! Good tip!

I prefer that tone for the flesh. Its also a very clean model, white and brights are hard, good job

Looks fine to me. I like to imagine that Tau skin starts out vibrant and the color gets duller as they age.

I really like it, I have to agree with what's been said, he looks like an old, grizzled veteran with that darker skin tone.

I think its a amazing model but imo i would say put a light black wash over the white to tone it down a bit it over takes the skin tone and it looks very anime cartoon ish imo but over all very nice paint job!

I'll try it out. It might also save me time trying to paint all the cracks black.

Sweet paint job, really like the face, only down side, I think the armor is to bright almost like fresh off the showroom new.

I think his skin looks great. By the fluff, Tau skin can run the gamut from blue to grey, so I think you're squarely where you need to be.

On a personal note, I like the armor showroom-new!

Try painting the skin in a bright grey color and then soaking it in Guilliman Blue.

Trust me it works like a charm and its fast. also it better to take a old black pot with a little left in it and fill it with water till you fine the type of black wash that you want

I love the colour scheme you've chosen for your armour. I just started painting my own Fireblade and I almost stripped him down just to start over with this scheme!
